Can You Actually Join the Secret Service in Fallout 76?

The United States Secret Service is a law enforcement agency operating under the Treasury Department of the United States government, encountered in Appalachia in Fallout 76, introduced in the Wastelanders update. Following the nuclear apocalypse, the Vault and the agents inhabiting it remained sealed, awaiting orders from the outside that the gold reserves were needed. After the Dweller breached Vault 79 and resolved the problem, they were permitted by the Secret Service to leave with some of the gold they had been protecting as a reward for their assistance.

Additionally, the main quest titled Secrets Revealed appears in the Fallout 76 update Wastelanders. With the Vault breached and the cutting-edge security broken through, the final step is reaching the gold. However, there is one wrinkle in the plan: A group of surviving United States Secret Service agents who are trapped and requesting rescue. After a brief interrogation, they enlist the Vault Dweller and their team to assist with freeing the surviving members of the Secret Service from the death trap that Vault 79 has become.

After collecting the bullion, the team simply has to leave and return to Digger, then follow him to the rest of the Secret Service members, who have regrouped outside the barracks upon the lockdown being lifted. AC offers a deal: Gold bullion in exchange for plans for advanced, exclusive technologies the Secret Service has.

Furthermore, the secret service (the Enclave) is accessed through the bunker buster quest. To start the quest line, go to the abandoned waste dump in the Mire.

After completing the Wastelanders questline, players can go to Vault 79 and purchase the Secret Service Armor plans from Regs for 5,900 Gold Bullion.

To start, you will need to actually open Vault 79. This is a lengthy, multi-step quest that tasks you with piecing together a code out of six map pieces.

Step-by-Step Guide to Accessing Vault 79

To access Vault 79 in Fallout 76, follow these steps:

  1. Location: Vault 79 is situated in the Savage Divide region of Appalachia. The main entrance is inside the Mysterious Cave, which is located north of the Bailey family cabin.
  2. Main Entrance: Inside the cave, you’ll find a keypad on a wall. This keypad reveals an elevator.
  3. Obtain the Randomized Code: You have two options to get the code for the elevator:
    • Complete the quest Treasure Unknown in the Grafton Pawn Shop.
    • Start the quest Buried Treasure to receive the code from the Raiders.
  4. Alternative Entrance: Another entrance to Vault 79 is through a shack northeast of the Bailey family cabin. Inside the shack, there’s a call button on a wall. However, the laser grid cannot be opened until you complete the main Vault 79 quest, Secrets Revealed.
  5. Completing the Quest: After finishing Secrets Revealed, you can pass through the laser grid and take the elevator to the gold storage Vault.
  6. Vault Overview: Vault 79 is extensive, featuring many utility rooms and workshops. The atrium is one of the largest sections and houses a sentry bot that is activated upon entry. Expect various hostile robots and automated turrets in the main areas.
  7. Radiation and Enemies: The reactor section is highly irradiated and contains feral ghouls and a wendigo.
  8. Progressing Through Quests: To unlock Vault 79, advance through the main storyline until you reach the ‘All That Glitters’ quest, which is part of the Wastelanders update. You will work with either the Settlers or the Raiders to break into the vault.
  9. No Key Required: There is no key for the doors, such as the red laser door, which are locked behind missions. Complete the Settlers/Raiders questline to its conclusion to enter.
  10. Final Access: The final quest grants access to the elevator in the shack. After completing this questline, the only way to access the vault is through the elevator to the limited section.

Unlocking Secret Service Underarmor Plans: What You Need to Know

Secret Service Underarmor Overview

  • The Secret Service underarmor is an underarmor in Fallout 76, introduced in the Wastelanders update.
  • It provides the highest resistance against physical, energy, and radiation damage of any underarmor in the game when fully modified.
  • Additionally, it can be modified with Secret Service linings and allows for further armor pieces to be worn above it.

Acquisition of Plans

  • Plans for the Secret Service underarmor can be bought from Regs or Minerva.
  • The underarmor’s plan costs 250 Gold Bullion.
  • It can be crafted at any armor workbench with the correct materials after learning the plan.
  • It is available at Vault 79 or random locations where Minerva spawns.

Modifications Available

  • When it comes to modifications, there are several linings available:
    • Standard Lining (+10% resistance)
    • Treated Lining (adds +2 Strength and +2 Endurance)
    • Resistant Lining (adds +2 Strength, +2 Perception, and +2 Endurance)
    • Protective Lining (adds +2 Strength, +2 Perception, and +4 Endurance)
    • Shielded Lining (adds +4 Strength, +2 Perception, and +4 Endurance)
  • Each lining has varying resource requirements.

Additional Information

  • The Secret Service Underarmor is a purchasable item and performs best when upgraded with the Shielded Lining mod.
  • You can’t drop or trade secret service armor pieces, as it has been restricted for a lot of end-game items.
  • However, it remains one of the best armors in the game.
  • You learn the plans and will have a chance to get legendary drops, similar to other kinds of armor, although the chances to get a decent set this way may be a long shot.

How to Craft Secret Service Armor in Fallout 76

To craft Secret Service armor in Fallout 76, follow these guidelines:

  1. Acquire Plans: Plans for crafting Secret Service armor can be bought from Reginald Stone.
  2. Legendary Modules: Each armor piece requires a legendary module to craft. You will need a total of six Legendary Modules — one for each piece. These modules can be purchased from Purveyor Murmrgh. Ensure you collect at least 300 Scrips to buy the modules from the Rusty Pick.
  3. Crafting Process: The armor can be crafted at an Armor Workbench. Head to the workbench and craft the primary pieces: Arms, Legs, Torso. The helmet is optional.

Armor Quality: The crafted armor will be of legendary quality, with ratings ranging from one to three stars. Each piece will also have one to three randomized legendary effects and any relevant modifiers assigned to it.

Armor Features: The Secret Service armor provides high resistance against physical, energy, and radiation damage. Additionally, it can be upgraded for further protection. Fully upgraded, this armor set offers the highest radiation resistance of any non-power armor set in the game, only slightly lower than a set of metal armor.

Legendary Armor Availability: Legendary Secret Service armor starts to drop at level 40. You can also obtain legendary armor pieces by purchasing them with legendary scrip from Purveyor Murmrgh or as rewards from events.

Materials Needed:

  • Helmet: 1 leather, 3 plastic, 1 rubber, 5 steel
  • Underarmor: 7 ballistic fiber, 9 circuitry

Location of Secret Service Weapons and Gear

To acquire the Fallout 76 Secret Service armor, you will have to purchase the crafting plans from Reginald Stone. However, before doing so, you must first rescue this vendor, who is trapped inside a malfunctioned vault, by completing the Secrets Revealed quest.

You can find Reginald Stone in Vault 79, which is located in the Savage Divide region of Appalachia. After unlocking this vendor, you can purchase the following Secret Service armor crafting plans:

  • Plan: Secret Service chest piece – 1250 bullion
  • Plan: Secret Service helmet – 1650 bullion
  • Plan: Secret Service left arm – 750 bullion
  • Plan: Secret Service right arm – 750 bullion
  • Plan: Secret Service left leg – 750 bullion
  • Plan: Secret Service right leg – 750 bullion
  • Plan: Secret Service underarmor – 250 bullion

You can craft them at an Armor workbench. Besides the helmet and underarmor, the rest of the set will be of Legendary quality and has a randomized Legendary armor effect.

Here are the materials required to craft the various pieces of the Fallout 76 Secret Service armor:

  • Helmet: Leather:1, Plastic:3, Rubber:1, Steel:5
  • Arms (Level 50): Adhesive:1, Leather:2, Legendary module:1, Plastic:6, Rubber:2, Steel:10
  • Chest (Level 50): Adhesive:1, Leather:4, Legendary module:1, Plastic:13, Rubber:5, Steel:17
  • Legs (Level 50): Adhesive:1, Leather:2, Legendary module:1, Plastic:8, Rubber:2, Steel:12

In terms of radiation resistance, only power armor sets, Chinese stealth armor, and hazmat suits surpass it, while a metal armor set provides superior damage resistance. Nevertheless, the Secret Service armor is among the only two non-power armor sets in the title that you can customize with a jet pack mod.

To get the plans, visit Regs at Vault 79 or Minerva at her spawns. The Secret Service mods are offered by Gold-Bullion vendors. But note that this Armor’s mods are pretty expensive, and players are better off without most of them.

Secret Service armor is an armor set in Fallout 76, introduced in the Wastelanders update. It was used by the pre-War Secret Service in Appalachia. You’ll be able to purchase the plans for Bullions from Regs at Vault 79 after you finish the Wastelanders questline.

What Role Does the Wastelanders Questline Play?

To access the Secret Service content in Fallout 76’s Wastelanders questline, you need to complete the entire Wastelanders main story questline. This is the only way to unlock access to the Secret Service characters and their unique armor plans, as they are tied to the conclusion of the Wastelanders narrative.

After finishing the Wastelanders quests, you will gain access to Vault 79. Here, you can interact with characters related to the Secret Service. Specifically, look for Regs, the vendor who sells all the plans for the Secret Service armor.

The Secret Service armor set is considered one of the best armor sets in the game, offering high resistance to various damage types. With the right perks, mods, and legendary rolls, it can provide players with unmatched protection compared to all other non-Power Armor sets.

Additionally, the Wastelanders questline features two main storylines. One storyline focuses on a woman named Duchess who owns a bar called The Wayward, while the other is a new Overseer storyline, which allows you to meet with her.

After completing the Wastelanders questline, you can purchase the Secret Service Armor plans from Regs for 5,900 Gold Bullion.

Understanding the Secret Service Jetpack Functionality

Secret Service Jetpack Functionality in Fallout 76

The Secret Service jet pack armor is an armor mod plan in Fallout 76, introduced in the Wastelanders update. The plan unlocks crafting of the jet pack mod for the Secret Service armor chest at an armor workbench.

You can acquire the jetpack mod by:

  • Buying from Regs in Vault 79 for 2000 gold bullion.
  • Purchasing from Minerva as part of her rotating inventory.

Note: Minerva will sell the plans for the complete armor set and the jetpack on September 14 at Whitespring. Additionally, consider incorporating mods like buttressed (for limbs and torso) and deep pocket.

There is no restriction on obtaining the plans, either after the vault raid or through Minerva.

The Secret Service jetpack functions as a torso armor mod that allows players to propel into the air at the cost of Action Points (AP). When installed on power armor, it drains fusion core power at an increased rate, similar to sprinting.

Key characteristics of the jetpack include:

  • Ability to jump from high places, although it is less safe than controlled bursts from other jetpacks.
  • Poor performance in terms of elevation, allowing heights comparable to a Marsupial jump before AP runs out.
  • Limited enhancement of horizontal distance.

Interestingly, the jetpack is smaller and more lightweight than the power armor jetpack. This raises the question of whether it could be rigged to run on fusion cores for increased power. However, it’s crucial to note that power armor uses both fusion cores and AP, while the Secret Service jetpack solely relies on AP.

Furthermore, players have discovered a glitch that allows for unlimited usage of the jetpack, enabling access to greater heights. Nonetheless, this functionality may not be essential, as some players recommend prioritizing other mods and underarmor for improved overall performance.

Price and Accessibility of Secret Service Armor in Fallout 76

To acquire the Secret Service Armor in Fallout 76, players must follow a series of steps to ensure they have the necessary resources and fulfill specific conditions.

First, players need to complete the Wastelanders questline. This is essential as it opens up access to the gold bullion currency system needed for purchasing armor plans. Additionally, they must complete either the Secrets Revealed quest or the All That Glitters quest.

Once the necessary quests are completed, players can purchase the armor plans from Reginald ‘Regs’ Stone, who is located in Vault 79. The prices for the individual plans are as follows:

  • Helmet: 1,650 gold bullion
  • Chest Piece: 1,250 gold bullion
  • Left Arm: 750 gold bullion
  • Right Arm: 750 gold bullion
  • Left Leg: 750 gold bullion
  • Right Leg: 750 gold bullion

In total, purchasing all plans will require 5,900 gold bullion. Gold bullion can be obtained by earning Treasury Notes, which are rewarded for completing various daily quests and events. Players may accumulate up to 40 Treasury Notes per day, which can be exchanged for 400 gold bullion.

Moreover, crafting each piece of the armor necessitates Legendary Modules. These can be acquired from Purveyor Murmrgh at the Rusty Pick in exchange for Legendary scrip.

Each Legendary Module costs 50 Legendary scrip, and completing the entire armor set will require trading 350 Legendary scrip for seven Legendary Modules.

Finally, it is worth noting that after purchasing the plans, players can also obtain the armor through legendary drops or from events. It’s advisable not to rush into buying Secret Service armor immediately, as Minerva may be at Foundation selling the armor at a discount.
