You’ll be given a quest to find three Protectors out in the Wildspire Wastes. Protectors are Grimalkynes that appear randomly on the map (if you are struggling to see them, change the level all the way out, and they should be easier to see.)

Is Deviljho harder than Nergigante?
Move set wise, deviljho is harder imo. He has some powerhouse move that are hard to predict, namely his hip check and 5x bite combo. He was way harder for me to defeat than nergigante, who I find to be pretty well telegraphed.

Does a capture count as a hunt?
You will be specifically directed to ‘slay’ the monster for some optional quests/investigations. Those ones you can‘t capture, just like the ‘capture‘ quests can‘t be slayed or you fail. But if it just says ‘hunt,’ the quest will be completed with slay or capture of the monster(s).
Can you capture on a hunt?
Capturing is an optional way to complete any regular hunt quests, but is a requirement for certain types of optional hunts, so learning how to do will become key if you want to tick every quest off the list.
Is it better to capture or slay MHR?
Since you’re aiming for killing the monster, you essentially have a lot more time to break parts and cut tails. When capturing, there is a chance that the monster will weaken before you can break parts and sever the tail so when you really need to break these parts, we suggest killing instead of capturing.
