What is General Atomics Galleria in Fallout 4?
General Atomics Galleria Overview
The General Atomics Galleria is a location in the Commonwealth in 2287. This pre-War relic was designed to showcase what a town’s commercial district would look like if it were run entirely by robots. It is inhabited solely by Mr. Handies and Mr. Gutsies of varying personalities, completely oblivious to the War.
Accessing the Galleria
Just prior to the War, a grand opening supervisor was supposed to arrive. The Sole Survivor can masquerade as this supervisor to gain further access to the location. A manual password override can be found at the terminal in the back of the bowling alley, while the prior supervisor’s password keycard is located in the Director’s office to the left of their desk.
Initiating the Grand Re-Opening
- The various shops around the galleria remain open but do not operate normally until the grand re-opening event is officially triggered.
- This can be initiated by passing Speech checks or using a General Atomics ID card from the General Atomics factory.
- If the Director has been destroyed, access the computer in the Director’s office using a password saved in the supervisor’s terminal to start the grand re-opening independently.
Transforming into a Settlement
Turning the General Atomics Galleria into a settlement is possible. The implementation does make it functional, yet it remains far from perfect, with some aspects still broken or looking odd (for instance, the border). The workbench is situated next to one of the buildings.
Recommendations for Opening
- It is advisable to open the Galleria before interacting with the workbench.
- Allow the robots time to clean up after opening the Galleria, enabling built-in collision boxes and improving the overall aesthetics of your friendly robot settlement.
Settlers and Mod Compatibility
Thanks to the efforts of speedynl and Interknet, settlers will begin to arrive if a beacon is put up, which takes a couple of days in-game time. Note that issues may arise in version 0.2.3, as the Automatron DLC is a master for the file. However, if you don’t have the DLC, you can continue using the mod, as it no longer relies on any Automatron content.
Location Details
The General Atomics Galleria is a building ruin located in the northern central area of The Commonwealth, east of Skylanes Flight 1981. Upon completing the associated quest, a few traders will appear, but little else is found in the area.
How to Transform General Atomics Galleria into a Functional Settlement?
Transforming the General Atomics Galleria into a functional settlement involves several detailed steps:
- Settlement Creation: A settlement at General Atomics Galleria does not break Precombined Geometry. It uses an ESL Flagged ESP, offering a large build area that is City Planner & TS Blueprint friendly, making it ideal for Sim Settlements.
- Activating the Settlement: To activate the settlement, take the elevator to the director’s office. You must first convince the director of being an employee, so instructions for this part are necessary.
- Mod Functionality: The mod effectively turns the General Atomics Galleria into a functioning settlement. Although it is far from perfect, with some elements appearing broken or odd (such as the border), the workbench is conveniently located next to one of the buildings. Special thanks to Tarsis31 for fixing this mod.
- Initial Setup: It is recommended to open the Galleria before accessing the workbench. Allow the robots time to clean up after this step. This approach enables built-in collision boxes and other elements to be naturally removed, enhancing the environment of your friendly robot settlement. Once the cleanup has occurred, approach the workbench to gain ownership.
- Console Command Option: Alternatively, you can utilize a console command to place a workbench, which will transform the area into a fully functional settlement.
- Additional Features: The mod also turns the Galleria and Bowling Alley into two fully functional settlements. It adds features such as a dock for fish farming and a large entertainment area within the Galleria.
