It is important to note that nothing in these leaderboards is official. This is our best attempt at interpreting the rules given by Epic. If you are close to qualifying, do not assume qualification status, as there can be discrepancies and changes made by Epic, including disqualifications and points adjustments. The official tie-breaker rules can be ambiguous; our data is updated approximately every 4 minutes.

When and How to Join FNCS Qualifier 1

The FNCS 2025 Major 1 introduces a unique multi-stage qualification process. Here’s a breakdown:

  • Divisional Cups: An open-for-all weekly tournament that groups the teams into three divisions. After five weeks, the teams in Division 1 qualify for the Play-In stage.
  • Play-In Stage: In this stage, the top teams on the leaderboard (top 99 in Europe and North America Central and top 66 in all other regions) advance to the Group Stage.
  • Group Stage: In the Group Stage, teams compete in their respective groups to secure a spot in the Major Finals. Victory Royales grant instant qualification, while other teams are qualified based on overall performance and consistency.
  • Last Chance Qualifier: Teams that don’t make it past the Group Stage have one final opportunity to earn a spot at the Fortnite FNCS 2025 Major 1 Grand Finals.

The Fortnite FNCS 2025 Major 1 Grand Finals will be played during Chapter 6 Season 1, beginning on February 15, 2025. It is an online tournament, and two similar major events will be hosted later this year.

To participate in the FNCS Major qualifiers, you and your duo must have reached Platinum 1 in Ranked Battle Royale. You’ll need to be Platinum I rank or higher in Battle Royale to enter Round 1 of Open Qualifier 1 or Open Qualifier 2. Your duo can compete in Open Qualifier 1, 2, or both if you weren’t satisfied with your performance in Open Qualifier 1.

Analyzing the Scoring System of FNCS Tournaments

An analysis of the FNCS Season 5 scoring system reveals a structured points-based framework that governs player rankings. The scoring system operates on several key principles:

  • The FNCS leaderboard is fundamentally a points-based system, where players earn points based on their in-game performance.
  • Points are accumulated over multiple rounds, leading top-ranked players to progress to subsequent competition stages.

Points Allocation:

  • Players earn points for eliminations, placements, and overall match performance.
  • The system is designed to reward both aggressive and strategic playstyles.

Detailed Breakdown:

  • Eliminations: Players earn points for each opponent they eliminate. This aspect encourages aggressive play and rewards risky strategies.
  • Placement Points: Points are awarded based on a player’s finishing position in a match. Generally, higher placements will earn substantially more points, emphasizing the importance of strategic gameplay.

Moreover, the scoring system may include bonuses for specific achievements, such as streaks of high placements or multiple eliminations in a single match. Understanding this scoring system is essential for players aiming to optimize their performance on the FNCS leaderboard.

Specifically, in FNCS Season 5:

  • Points are based on a mix of placement and eliminations, with a heavier emphasis placed on securing high placements rather than accumulating numerous kills.
  • The exact point values for placement and eliminations can vary based on the tournament format; however, typically, a win will award more significant points than a single elimination.
  • The scoring system may also prioritize certain matches, with later rounds often possessing higher point values for placements and eliminations.

FNCS 2024 is the eighteenth season of the Fortnite Champion Series. This season continues the changes to the 2023 season, with 3 splits – Major 1, Major 2, and Major 3. This year brings a new qualifier system, with two open qualifiers (April 12th – April 21st).

Here is the complete schedule for all upcoming tournaments and ranked cups in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2: The highly anticipated 2024 FNCS Major 2 kicks off during Chapter 5 Season 2.

Comparative Analysis of FNCS Final Results Across Seasons

In North America, the Major saw two pretty well-known players take the top spot. Acorn and Cold both came in first. They’ve won a large share of the prize pool but also a slot at the Global Championship. Moreover, these two actually won the first Major back in 2023 too, so the pair has managed to do this back-to-back this year.

In Europe, two Duos of the best Fortnite players have managed to secure their spots. However, only one can claim to be the Champions of the region for Major 1. In first place came Merstach and Malibuca. They claimed victory at two DreamHack events last year as well as strong results in past FNCS tournaments.

Additionally, Europe’s second-placing Duo, Queasy and Th0masHD, also secured their Global Championship spots. This Duo is a past FNCS winner, returning to the top for Chapter 5.

These are all of the players who have been secured for the Global Championship:

  • Merstach and Malibuca (Europe 1st)
  • Queasy and Th0masHD (Europe 2nd)
  • Acorn and Cold (North America)
  • Cadu and Seeyun (Brazil)
  • Zagou and Shelom (Asia)
  • Kalgamer and 7man (Middle East)
  • Suns and vazen (Oceania)

The competition out of Europe seemed over before it even began. Wave JannisZ, chapix, and GUILD Hen obliterated all 32 other teams in the week one finals. This relatively new trio managed to hold their own against some of the best in the region.

Furthermore, the undeniable force of FaZe Bizzle, SEN Bugha, and NRG Clix would not back down in week one of the FNCS. These three Fortnite World Cup Finalists dominated all of their opponents, showcasing their exceptional skills.

Lastly, last season’s winners out of Brazil — Kurtz, Redlee, and Frosty — picked up where they left off with another trio tournament victory. They are only one of a few teams continuing their success into the current season.
