What Episode Does Kevin Die in Snowfall?

Kevin is shot by Franklin Saint while attempting to take revenge. His death occurs in the episode titled ‘Surrender’.

Additionally, Cissy states that Kevin is dead, expressing that he was shot and killed while demanding to know where Franklin was at and what is happening.

How Did Franklin Saint Impact Kevin’s Fate?

Franklin kept the information under wraps. Then, the Villanueva Cartel reached out to him seeking the recipe for the crack in exchange for the hitman’s identity. However, Franklin refused to provide it, unaware that Kevin went behind his back just to avenge his cousin.

At Acuña Park, Franklin and Leon arrived to stop Kevin from killing Conejo and bringing a war to South Central. Kevin refused to listen to reason. As he fired upon Conejo, Franklin shot Kevin. Subsequently, Agent Lorena Cardenas was present and spotted Franklin and Leon running while she went to check on Kevin. Later, Franklin learned that Kevin died from the gunshot wound, and he became wanted for murder.

Franklin’s actions had dire consequences not only for himself but also for those around him. After Kevin’s death, Franklin faced legal troubles and a downward spiral in his own life. This showcases how intertwined their fates were.

Initially, Franklin was prepared to skip town. However, when he went to the house to say goodbye to his mother, Sergeant Andre Wright and his LAPD buddies swarmed the house and took Franklin into custody. He spent some time in jail, was denied bail, and was transferred to Pitchard Detention Facility. He was then released courtesy of Teddy, which led Franklin to realize that his new plug was working for the U.S. Government.

Moreover, Franklin’s pride and ego contributed to his downfall. The Downtown Property became the end of him, as he’d rather have it ripped from his hands than sell it.

Ultimately, Franklin was able to escape justice after Teddy coerced Lorena into recanting her statement. Kevin would turn on Franklin and work with his brother Kane, but he would eventually die anyway. Specifically, Kevin would give Kane intel on Franklin.

Who Was Responsible for Kevin’s Death in Snowfall?

In the series “Snowfall,” Kevin’s death was primarily a result of Franklin’s actions. Franklin pulled out his gun and accidentally shot his friend. His intention was to scare his friend into dropping his gun, but this action ended tragically with Kevin’s death. Franklin later discovered the gravity of his actions, realizing he was responsible for killing one of his best friends. At that moment, police officers were already aware of his name and were actively searching for him.

Furthermore, Kevin’s death was intertwined with the death of his younger cousin, who was killed for selling drugs in the wrong territory. This incident escalated tensions between Franklin and Kevin. Kevin believed that Franklin should take action against the Mexican gang responsible for his cousin’s death.

Additionally, Leon expressed anger towards Gustavo, whom he blamed for Kevin’s death. He stormed out when Franklin defended Gustavo, highlighting the internal conflicts among the characters stemming from these tragic events.

Exploring the Character of Kevin Hamilton in Snowfall

Character Overview:

Kevin Hamilton was the best friend of Franklin Saint and the brother of Kane Hamilton. He is portrayed by Malcolm M. Mays. Within the FX tv series Snowfall, he serves as a supporting character in season 1 and the main antagonist in season 2 of Franklin’s story arc.

Relationship with Franklin Saint:

Kevin has always been one of Franklin Saint’s most loyal friends. He is part of a close-knit group that includes Leon Simmons and Rob Volpe. Kevin played a crucial role in helping Franklin sell cocaine, sourced from Rob’s contact, Avi Drexler. After establishing a partnership, he became part of “the Family,” a gang that includes many members, such as Uncle Jerome Saint.

Transition to Crack Sales:

As time progressed, Franklin began selling cocaine as crack and teaching various individuals the trade. Given the opportunity, Kevin started selling crack with his cousin, Delroy Hamilton, whom he had introduced into the business. Following a series of sales, Delroy and a friend sold crack in a Spanish area; they were ambushed and killed by a hitman from the Stomper gang named Conejo.

Retribution and Conflict:

In the wake of Delroy’s death, Kevin sought to eliminate Conejo. He exchanged information regarding crack preparation with Lucia Villanueva to locate Conejo. However, during a critical moment, he was stopped by Franklin and Leon, who were trying to prevent a war with the Spanish.

Fatal Confrontation:

Kevin Hamilton was killed in the first season of Snowfall. He was shot by Franklin after a confrontation escalated between them. Kevin insisted on retaliating against a rival drug dealer, while Franklin attempted a more diplomatic approach to prevent further violence. When Kevin pulled a gun on Franklin, Franklin reacted first and shot him, resulting in Kevin’s death.

Significant Impact on the Series:

This moment marks a significant turning point for Franklin’s character, illustrating the harsh realities of the drug trade and its impact on personal relationships. Kevin’s death echoes throughout the series, affecting the dynamics and decisions of the characters moving forward. The tragedy of Kevin’s demise, along with the emotional volatility he exhibited regarding friendships and family prioritization over business, is highlighted as one of the bleakest moments in Snowfall.

Did Kevin Survive the Gunshot in Snowfall?

In the FX series ‘Snowfall,’ Kevin Hamilton’s fate remains uncertain. He was shot by Franklin Saint during a confrontation that escalated. While Franklin intended to stop Kevin rather than kill him, the gunshot wound left Kevin bleeding, raising concerns about his survival.

To add to the complexity, the show is set in a world where anyone can die at any moment. Characters like Kevin, along with Andre Wright and Drew ‘Manboy’ Miller, have experienced dramatic turns in their fate. Moreover, it’s unclear if the narrative plan includes Franklin killing a significant character, as the show is expected to take a darker turn this season.

Ultimately, when Kevin was found, he was still technically bleeding. However, the presence of a bullet in him does not bode well for his future.

Notably, Kevin was depicted as impatient and trigger-happy, driven by a thirst for revenge following Delroy’s death. His loyalty to his family diminished, as did his friendship with Franklin. He believed that Franklin had held him back, leading him to choose his own path of payback.
