Who is Huai’an, Verr Goldet’s Husband in Genshin Impact?
Huai’an is an open-world NPC in Liyue, found at the entrance of the Wangshu Inn at Dihua Marsh. He manages the inn alongside his wife Verr Goldet, who serves as the business’ boss.
Regarding their relationship, Huai’an shares, “Ah yes, that would be my wife. She moved from Mondstadt to marry me. When I was a child we used to sing this nursery rhyme about Liyue women: ‘Half the girls marry to a winery town, the other half sail to a faraway land.’ Oh, how the tables have turned… I feel quite proud to have broken the mold! Hahaha.”
In terms of gameplay, players will need to descend and retrieve five wooden planks for Huai’an, which he uses to repair half of the broken steps in the inn.
Understanding the Story of Verr Goldet and Huai’an in Liyue
Overview of Verr Goldet and Huai’an
Verr Goldet is an open-world NPC at the Wangshu Inn, located at Dihua Marsh in Liyue. She serves as the owner of the inn, while her husband, Huai’an, is the innkeeper—a distinction she is very insistent about. Verr claims to hail from Mondstadt and moved to Liyue after marrying Huai’an. However, it is noted by Jiangxue that nobody from Mondstadt knows her, suggesting she may be using an alias or possibly originates from another nation.
The Role of Wangshu Inn
Both Verr and Huai’an, along with the Wangshu Inn staff, are agents of the Liyue Qixing, passing intel to Ningguang. They established Wangshu Inn to covertly support Xiao in his mission to suppress the emanations of evil gods. The inn serves as a front for their secret operations, which include assisting Xiao in excising plagues from Liyue.
Huai’an’s Abilities and Insights
Despite his cheeky demeanor, Huai’an is described as a formidable martial artist. He indicated that he once threw a large monster over the side of Wangshu Inn, which resulted in the destruction of the inn’s stairs. While he is aware of Xiao’s martial prowess, Huai’an stated that only Verr Goldet truly knows Xiao’s story.
Verr’s Involvement
In addition to managing daily operations, Verr Goldet acts as a vendor at the inn. She sells food, recipes, and Liyue specialties, such as Silk Flowers and Violetgrass. It is also a hiring requirement for their staff to practice martial arts, emphasizing the importance of being nimble of hand and foot while serving guests.
