Unearthing Riches: Your Hilarious and Handy Guide to Treasure Hunting in Genshin Impact

Traveler, low on Mora? Running low on Primogems? Worry not. Genshin Impact is filled with loot, chests, and shiny trinkets waiting to be found. This is your treasure-hunting guide. No cheating here. We wouldn’t want the Tsaritsa sending her Fatui after us.

Treasure Trove Locations and Quests: X Marks the Spot (and Sometimes a Hilichurl)

Let’s get real – where’s the gold? Genshin’s world has treasure locations, some obvious, others hidden. Some kind-hearted NPCs left us quests to guide us to treasure. How nice of them!

General Treasure Hotspots: Everywhere and Nowhere at Once

Ready for some treasure hunting? Good news! Genshin does not hide its chests in one place. They lie everywhere – atop mountains, behind waterfalls, in ruins, and randomly in open spaces judging your choices.

Finding the Elusive “Where”

The real question isn’t if there’s treasure but where it hides. Exploring is half the fun. Keep an eye out for anything chest-shaped or listen for that chime signaling “Loot Nearby!”. Those chests really want attention.

“Share Not Your Treasures”: A Quest with a Moral (and Treasure!)

Ever seen a quest called “Share Not Your Treasures”? A bit stingy, isn’t it? But we focus on the loot! This quest leads to a specific treasure location. The treasure isn’t meant to be shared, despite its name. Go figure.

Pinpointing Specific Treasures: Quests That Actually Tell You Where to Go (Mostly)

Now for the best treasure hunts – quests with real clues! No more aimless wandering (well, maybe a little less). These quests involve quirky NPCs, riddles, and the occasional monster. Classic Genshin.

Chouji’s Hidden Stash: Kid’s Got Good Taste in Hiding Spots

Remember Chouji? That cute kid from Yashiori Island obsessed with Crystal Marrow? He has hidden treasure! He mentions it, and you, being the helpful Traveler, hunt it down. It’s south of Yashiori Island, near Jakotsu Mine. Kids bury treasure near giant skeletons, right?

Nameless Treasures: Mystery Boxes of Liyue

Nameless Treasures sound intriguing, don’t they? These artifacts hide across Liyue. Find all three for a secret achievement. What to do with them? Bring them to Liyue Harbor to a certain NPC named Linlang. She runs a jewelry shop. Trade those treasures for goodies! Cha-ching!

“Stolen, by the Rightful Owner”: Ring Recovery Mission

Feeling heroic and fancy shiny objects? The “Stolen, by the Rightful Owner” quest suits you. Someone lost a ring, and it’s up to you to play detective. Find the ring and return it to Taliesin. Simple quest, follow the clues, and give back the bling. Hero status unlocked.

Yaksha’s Wish: Tablet Time in Jueyun Karst

Fancy some historical mystery? The “Yaksha’s Wish” quest in Jueyun Karst is for you. Start at the waypoint east of Jueyun Karst, look for a circular pattern. This quest involves Ruin Tablets. Collect them, solve puzzles, and enjoy the loot! It’s like being Indiana Jones but without snakes.

Missing Miner: Underground Expedition Required

Ever wondered what happens to miners in Genshin? Sometimes, they go missing! The “Missing Miner” quest sends you underground to find a missing miner. Start by interacting with a “Work Handbook” inside a tree log in the Underground Waterway. Find him and navigate dark tunnels filled with creepy crawlies.

Secret Pirate Booty: Falcon Coast Dungeon Dive

Pirates in Teyvat? Aye! Rumors of treasures hide at Falcon Coast. It’s in a dungeon on the southern beach. During Kaeya’s Story Quest, you get to hunt this treasure. Adventurous players will enjoy this treasure hunt. Yo ho ho and a bottle of… slime condensate?

Treasure Maps: Paper Trails to Riches

Treasure maps are essential for treasure hunting! Genshin has these cryptic charts leading to hidden treasures. Finding them is thrilling, but the true reward is still the loot! These maps lead to hidden chests and artifacts, making solving them worth the effort.

“Treasure Lost, Treasure Found”: Soraya’s Scholarly Search

Like history and treasure? The “Treasure Lost, Treasure Found” quest starts with Soraya at Wangshu Inn. She seeks ancient treasures and needs your help. Chat with her, and you’ll uncover relics while battling monsters. It’s a history lesson, with swords!

“Unknown Treasure”: Mail Call for Mystery

Ever get strange mail in Genshin? Look out for the “Unknown Treasure” quest. It starts when you read mail at Grafton Pawn Shop in Mondstadt. Important treasure maps arrive via post, left on the doorstep. This quest is wild but promises hidden treasure!

Chouji’s *Other* Treasure: Yashiori Island Revisited

Chouji isn’t a one-treasure kid. After helping him gather 12 pieces of Crystal Marrow, another treasure location opens up near Jakotsu Mine. Chouji showers us with loot! How nice of him!

Treasure-Finding Gadgets and Guru Moves: Tools of the Trade (and Treasure)

Wandering and hoping to stumble upon treasure is a strategy. But Genshin gives handy tools for treasure hunters looking to improve their loot-finding game.

Treasure Compasses: Your Personal Chest Radar

Need help in treasure hunting? Treasure Compasses are your case. These gadgets are region-specific and lead you to nearby chests. They act like metal detectors for magical loot in this fantasy world.

Anemo Treasure Compass (Mondstadt): Windy City Loot Locator

The Anemo Treasure Compass is the gadget for Mondstadt. Craft it after reaching Reputation Level 6 in Mondstadt, and it guides you toward chests in the land of wind. Pop it out and follow its directions to your next loot drop. Only one location can be marked at a time, so

Clear the area first before moving on.

Compass Creation 101

Crafting a Treasure Compass is simple. Get the diagram at Reputation Level 6 in Mondstadt for the Anemo Compass. Collect the materials, visit a blacksmith, and forge your treasure-finding tool. It’s like crafting luck with metals and elemental resources.

Pyro Compass: Fortune in Natlan

Planning future quests? There’s a Pyro Compass for Natlan! You can forge it after achieving Tribe Reputation Level 4 with three tribes in Natlan. When you enter Pyro lands, you’ll find treasures more easily.

Compass Tips

Here are some tips for using compasses: Only mark one treasure at a time. Explore thoroughly, as chests can be sly. Remember that Treasure Compasses are region-locked. You need the Mondstadt compass for Mondstadt and so on. Using an Inazuma compass in Sumeru? Nope. Not possible.

Interactive Maps: Your Guide in Teyvat

Want to know where every Geoculus and collectible hides? Use interactive maps! Websites like Genshin Impact’s site or GameWith feature these maps. They show locations for everything—from Geoculi to chests and seelies. Compare progress with these maps to find missed items. It’s your treasure-hunting GPS.

Exploration Progress: Aiming for 100%

For completionists, 100% exploration is the goal. You must find every chest, shrine, and finish all world quests. It’s a big task, but the rewards and bragging rights make it worth it.

The 100% Tip List

How to achieve that lovely 100% exploration? Start by using interactive maps for tracking collectibles. Utilize Treasure Compasses to find hidden chests. Complete World Quests, as they often hide items. Unlock Shrines, since they influence exploration stats. Don’t skip Elemental Sight! It reveals hidden items and chests you might ignore.

Shiny Items: Important Treasures

Apart from general treasure, Genshin has unique items and currencies worth tracking down. These range from elemental collectibles to specific regional currencies.

Geoculus: Collect for Stamina!

Geoculi are elemental sprites located in Mondstadt and Liyue. Collect these to offer to Statues of the Seven to increase stamina. More stamina means better gliding and climbing—key for all adventurers. Used a few? Interactive maps can help you find them.

Jade Slivers: Canthan Currency

If you’re exploring Cantha, know about Jade Slivers. This currency is found only in Cantha. You acquire it by recycling junk items with the Jade Bot Recycler. Think of it as converting trash to treasure—or currency. Use Jade Slivers to purchase various items and start recycling unwanted gear!

Geo Seals: Currency at Qingxu Pool

Geo Seals can be found in Liyue. They are used for purchases in souvenir shops in Liyue. Want some quick Geo Seals? Visit Qingxu Pool, where five Geo Seals are hiding. Gather them and indulge in a shopping spree!

Treasure-Specific Quests

Many quests yield unique treasures that are worth finding. These rewards often have stories and utilities of their own.

“Fishing for Jade”: Liyue Adventure

Want a fishing quest? Try “Fishing for Jade” in Liyue Harbor. Start this quest by talking with a Millelith guard named Kun at the front area of Liyue Harbor. Apparently, fishing connects to jade somehow. Genshin logic, right?

Dull Ring: It Can Be Sold!

Found a Dull Ring? Don’t throw it away! This simple piece of jewelry sells for Mora. Linlang, the jewelry shop owner in Liyue Harbor, buys them. Bolai might pay you too. Decide whether to sell to Linlang or see Bolai’s offer.

“Iwakura Out”: Achievement and Loot

Want an achievement? “Iwakura Out” requires you to defeat all six of Iwakura Art’s disciples. They are scattered around Inazuma, with Iwakura Mitsunari near Kujou Encampment in Kannazuka. Beat them all, earn the achievement, and get a Luxurious Chest! Skills and loot—what a combo!

Princess’s Box: Uncovering Dragonspine

Explore Dragonspine’s icy wilderness? Watch for the Princess’s Box. It’s one of three boxes found during the “Dragonspine’s Last Trio” challenge. The mystery involves the Princess’s Box! Get ready for cold puzzles and possible frostbite.

Purbiruni Commandment: Chasm Rewards

Defeated everything in The Chasm? Then claim your Purbiruni Commandment! It’s gained from completing tasks in The Chasm: “Solitary Sea-Beast, Mycological Investigation,” “Paleontological Investigation,” and “Hydrological Investigation.” Keep it or display it proudly.

Pillar Puzzles: Unlock Rewards

Genshin loves puzzles, especially those connected to domains and ancient pillars. Solve them, and you’ll earn rewards.

Nine Pillars of Peace: Cuijue Slope Secrets

The Nine Pillars of Peace reside at Cuijue Slope. Opening them takes several steps. First, find the inscribed stone to start. Then acquire nine Stones of Remembrance by leveling Statues of the Seven in Liyue. With all stones, activate the pillars and reveal secrets and loot.

Garden of Endless Pillars: Sumeru’s Domain

Traveling in Sumeru’s desert? Look for the Garden of Endless Pillars domain. Unlocking it requires solving an activation puzzle. Expect pillar-related challenges and various rewards as you solve this puzzle—hidden domains are always exciting!

NPC Network: Helpers on Your Quest

You’ll meet helpful NPCs on your treasure journeys. They often share clues, quests, or are crucial to your hunts.

Linlang: Liyue’s Treasure Expert

Linlang runs Xigu Antiques at Liyue Harbor. She exchanges Nameless Treasures and sells Dull Rings. Find her by the souvenir shop, and she’ll lighten your load (and give Geo Sigils). Liyue’s treasure concierge at your service!

Chouji: Crystal Marrow Expert

We’ve mentioned Chouji before and he’s worth mentioning again. This kid is linked to treasures in Genshin. His quests lead to many treasure spots, making him a cute source of loot leads. Plus, he has a pet tanuki!

Kun: Liyue’s Harbor Guard

Meet Kun, the guard in Liyue Harbor who initiates “Fishing for Jade.” Find him in the harbor and chat to get ready to fish for jade and possibly some fish too.

Soraya: Wangshu Inn Scholar

Soraya, the NPC

Wangshu Inn is your starting point for the “Treasure Lost, Treasure Found” quest. Chat with her. She will ask for help in her treasure hunt. She knows much and shows enthusiasm. The inn has a scenic view. Perfect for getting quests.

Bonus Bounty: Extra Quests and Achievements

Besides the main hunts, extra quests and achievements await. These will reward your adventurous spirit. Loot awaits your discovery.

Static Views Unlocked: Sumeru Chest Spectacle

Unlock Static Views in Sumeru. This reveals hidden chests! Complete “The World of Aranara” to access it. Your goal? Find hidden chests across Sumeru. You will be guided by static views. It is like treasure hunting through postcards. Very Sumeru.

“Iwakura Out” Achievement Unlocked: Disciple Defeating Delight

We mentioned this before, but it is important: Defeat all six Iwakura Art disciples. Doing this grants the “Iwakura Out” achievement. Track down and defeat Iwakura Mitsunari and his five disciples in Inazuma. Prove your skills and claim the achievement along with Luxurious Chest loot.

Red Dead Redemption’s Riches: A Western Treasure Wildcard (For Comparison)

For fun, let’s compare treasure hunting in Genshin to Red Dead Redemption (RDR). In RDR, treasure maps lead to gold bars and valuables. Finding gold bars brings in cash. But, Genshin’s treasures appear more often. RDR is grim; Genshin celebrates loot explosions. Both are fun, but Genshin is less dusty.

So, Traveler! Here is your guide to treasure hunting in Genshin Impact. Go explore Teyvat. Sniff out those chests, solve puzzles, and become the wealthiest adventurer by Celestia! Happy hunting!
