Kokomi Materials: Your Guide to Ascension and Beyond

You’ve chosen to add Sangonomiya Kokomi to your Genshin Impact team. Great choice! This Hydro healer and damage dealer is both elegant and effective. However, ascending her requires gathering materials. Don’t fret! We will guide you through her ascension materials and share some farming tips. Think of this as a helpful handbook.

Sango Pearls: Watatsumi’s Shimmering Secret

First on the list: Sango Pearls. These exquisite treasures come from Inazuma, specifically Watatsumi Island. If you’re unsure where to spot them, look for coral. Watatsumi is filled with coral formations that house these pearls. Version 2.1 introduced these gems, and they stay put. It’s like they knew Kokomi would need them.

  • Where to Find Sango Pearls:
    • Watatsumi Island, Inazuma – Just explore the coastlines and coral zones. They blend in a bit, so it’s like a scenic hunt.
  • Sango Pearl Respawn Time:
    • 48 hours (two real-time days). Like other local specialties, expect them to take time to reappear. If you’ve cleared Watatsumi, do not expect new ones soon. Patience is key.
  • Buying Sango Pearls:
    • Find Babak in Sumeru. Yes, Sumeru! He is into exotic items. Babak can be found in Port Ormos. Some rumors suggest he’s the go-to for Sango Pearls if Watatsumi runs low.

Spring of the First Dewdrop: Fontaine’s Elusive Essence

Next up is the Spring of the First Dewdrop. This title sounds lovely, right? Unlike Sango Pearls, this material takes more effort. You need to travel to Fontaine. Dive into “The Wild Fairy Of Erinnyes” World Quest to get started. Good things never come easily.

  • How to Obtain Spring of the First Dewdrop:
    • Complete “The Wild Fairy Of Erinnyes” World Quest. This unlocks Pahsiv as a vendor in Loch Urania. Pahsiv will trade Mount Dewdrop for Tidalga. Yes, you barter with seaweed for dew essences. Fontaine is fancy and a bit strange.
  • Why You Need It:
    • Character Ascension, especially for Fontaine characters like Navia. These regional materials are crucial for ascending specific characters. If you aim to build Navia with Kokomi, gather supplies!

Other Ascension Necessities: Spectral Series

Kokomi also needs some spectral materials for her ascension. This means obtaining the Spectral family of materials, dropped by Specters—those annoying floating foes. Time to use your crowd control skills.

  • Spectral Material Breakdown:
    • Spectral Husks: 18
    • Spectral Hearts: 30
    • Spectral Nucleus: 36

You need quite a bit. Farming Specters may not be thrilling, but it’s essential for Kokomi’s greatness. They mainly appear in Inazuma, especially on Seirai and Watatsumi Islands. Good luck hunting!

General Material Farming: Tips and Tricks

Now we shift focus from Kokomi to general farming matters. Genshin Impact consists of 50% breathtaking exploration and 50% careful planning for resource gathering. At times, it feels like 90% frustration with RNG.

Artifacts: The RNG Grind

Ah, Artifacts! They are both the bane and boon of every Genshin player. Each desired 5-star Artifact set drops from specific Domains. Sounds easy, doesn’t it? Not quite. The stats on dropped artifacts are entirely random. Infuriatingly so! It requires running the same domain repeatedly until luck is on your side. There’s no “farm faster” button. It’s just repetition—so brace for it, or have a good podcast ready.

Buying Materials: A Shopper’s Guide

Sometimes farming proves inefficient. Or maybe you want to save time. Good news! Genshin Impact allows various ways to purchase materials, though not always directly with Mora. Let’s check your shopping options:

  • General Availability: Realm Depot and Seed Dispensary
    • The Realm Depot in your Serenitea Pot offers a rotating stock of materials. It’s a useful way to passively gather some resources. The Seed Dispensary lets you grow certain materials in your teapot—slower but steadily consistent. Think of it as your Genshin vegetable garden.
  • Genesis Crystals and Welkin Moon: The Premium Path
    • If you’re willing to spend money, Genesis Crystals and Blessings of the Welkin Moon are good options. Platforms like Codashop US offer these items. Welkin Moon grants daily Primogems, aiding material acquisition (via Resin refresh). Genesis Crystals convert into Primogems or bundles for faster processes at a cost.
  • Inazuma Souvenir Shop: Sacred Sakura Rewards
    • The Inazuma Souvenir Shop unlocks after leveling the Sacred Sakura Tree. Offer Electro Sigils from Inazuma explorations to raise the tree’s level. Upgrading it proves worthwhile as well, giving Intertwined Fates and other rewards. Consider the shop a bonus prize for your efforts.
  • Rainbow Rose: Eugenie’s Fontaine Florist
    • Need Rainbow Roses? Eugenie in Fontaine has got you covered. She sells five Roses for 1000 Mora each, refreshing her stock every three days. Not bulk buying, but helpful for a quick replenishment.
  • Local Specialties (Babak): Sumeru’s Wares
    • Remember Babak from the Sango Pearls section? He’s a local vendor in Port Ormos, Sumeru. His wares refresh every three days. If in Sumeru and needing a local item, check him out. Don’t expect a full range though.

Farming materials in Genshin Impact feels like a marathon, not a sprint. Some items annoyingly hide—Rukkhashava Mushrooms and Baizhu’s flowers come to mind. Let’s not forget the challenging Handguards and Onikabuto that test your patience. With planning, persistence, and guides like this one, you can tackle the material grind and prepare Kokomi and others for Teyvat’s adventures! Now, I need to go persuade some Specters.
