Gems, Ores, and Crystals in Teyvat: A Traveler’s Guide to Riches (and Not Getting Robbed by NPCs)

Are you exploring Teyvat? Searching for shiny items? You’ve found the right guide. In Genshin Impact, ores and crystals are vital. They improve your gear and help level up your character. Let’s discover where to find these resources and avoid those tricky NPC merchants.

1. White Iron Chunk: Your Beginner-Friendly Ore (That’s Still Kinda Everywhere)

White Iron Chunk. It seems simple. But this basic ore is crucial. It’s essential for crafting early game weapons. You will encounter it often. Just like an attending friend to every gathering, it’s always around.

Where to Find These Chunks of Joy

White Iron Chunks like caves and mountains. Look in caves, mines, and rocky terrains around Teyvat. If it seems dark and rocky, search closely. They are scattered across regions but avoid Dragonspine. Even White Iron Chunks prefer warmth over frost.

Farming 101: Rock-Breaking for Fun and Profit

Farming White Iron Chunks is simple. Just smash rocks! Look for shiny destructible nodes. Use any weapon, but a Claymore is best. Each node gives 1-3 White Iron Chunks. Think of it as a helpful loot pinata filled with ore.

Specific Hotspots: Because “Everywhere” Isn’t Actually Helpful

For precision, focus on Mondstadt, Liyue, and Inazuma. Dragonspine lacks these ores. In Mondstadt, try Stormterror’s Lair and Wolvendom. Liyue has many ores near Mingyun Village and Liyue Harbor. In Inazuma, explore Narukami Island and Kannazuka.

Shitou: Your Friendly Neighborhood White Iron Chunk Dealer

Feeling lazy? Go to Liyue Harbor and find Shitou. He sells White Iron Chunks. You can buy up to 10 from him. He also sells Noctilucous Jade and Iron Chunks. Buying from him is easy but costs Mora. You can farm for free if you prefer.

The 50 White Iron Chunk Challenge: Accept if You Dare!

Need 50 White Iron Chunks? It seems tough, but it’s manageable. Explore caves and mountains. Use online maps to locate them. Visit Stormterror’s Lair, then go to Mingyun Village, and you’ll get your chunks before long. No rocket science here, just rock science.

2. NPC Ore Vendors: When You’re Too Rich (or Too Lazy) to Mine

Sometimes, mining isn’t appealing. That’s where NPC vendors come in. They offer convenience but may charge too much. Let’s see these vendors and what they offer for your hard-earned Mora.

Iron Chunks: The Bargain Bin Ores

Iron Chunks are common. But if you want to buy them, try Imix, Qiuyue, or Shitou. Imix is in Mondstadt, Qiuyue is in Liyue, and we’ve met Shitou already. They are your local ore stores, always accessible and reliable.

Crystal Chunks: Vendor-Free Zone

No shops sell Crystal Chunks. You must mine these yourself, so brace yourself. They are more valuable, which is why vendors don’t sell them. The game encourages adventure and exploration. Time to get your hands dirty!

Cor Lapis: Liyue’s Golden Goodness (and Changshun’s Hustle)

Need Cor Lapis? Visit Changshun in Liyue Harbor. She sells 5 pieces for 1500 Mora each. Her stock refreshes every three days, so pace yourself. Cor Lapis aids character ascension for key characters like Zhongli and Keqing.

The Wide World of NPC Vendors: Beyond the Basic Ores

Genshin Impact NPCs sell more than just ores. Clint, the blacksmith, offers Iron Ore for 150 Mora. For Rainbow Roses in Fontaine, Eugenie is the vendor. Five roses cost 1000 Mora, restocking every three days. For Silk Flowers, Qiuwei in Port Ormos sells five for 1000 Mora.

3. Farming Strategies and Respawn Timers: Patience is a Virtue (Especially When Mining)

Farming effectively requires knowing respawn timers. Revisit a mining spot only when it’s ready. Planning will prevent wasted trips if you’re not keen on scenic walks.

White Iron Chunk Farming: Hit the Maps!

For White Iron Chunks, use the Teyvat Interactive Map online. It helps locate specific areas easily. Map your routes to maximize chunk gathering. Before long, you’ll have a decent stockpile of these ores.

Crystal Chunk Respawn: The 48-Hour Wait

Crystal Chunks respawn every 48 hours in Genshin time. Don’t expect them back the next day if you clear a location. Use this time to explore or finish quests. Or just take a break from the game and enjoy reality.

Iron Chunk Farming: Tatarasuna and The Chasm are Your Friends

Tatarasuna in Inazuma and The Chasm in Liyue are rich in Iron Chunks. Investigate the “Investigate” points in Tatarasuna as they often yield minerals, including Iron Chunks. Make visiting a regular habit every two days for best results.

Cor Lapis Respawn: 2-3 Days of Golden Slumber

Cor Lapis respawns in 2-3 days. Check Mt. Hulao in Liyue for quick gathering. Cor Lapis enjoys hiding in caves or under cliffs in Liyue. Explore dark corners for better chances. Keep the respawn timer in mind.

Plan your farming. No need to check Mt. Hulao daily if it’s in its Cor Lapis slumber.

Iron Respawn: Chasm Investigation Spree

The Chasm is the place for Iron. Mine it and use the investigation points. You get Iron and more Iron. The Chasm is an Iron paradise. For Iron needs, visit there.

4. Related Ores and Materials: Beyond the Chunks

Ores and chunks are just a start. Genshin Impact offers a treasure trove of materials. Let’s look at some related items and their uses.

Crystal Chunks: Weapon Crafting Powerhouse

Hoard at least 50 Crystal Chunks. Craft four-star weapons with them. Yes, shiny purple weapons that are handy. Crystal Chunks are essential for these weapons. Your mining will pay off.

Cor Lapis: Ascension and More

Cor Lapis, sold by Changshun, helps with crafting, forging, and character ascension. Zhongli, Keqing, and Chongyun need Cor Lapis to ascend. If you want to level these characters, farm or buy plenty.

Crystal Marrow: Inazuma’s Bone-ified Resource

Find Crystal Marrow on Orobashi’s bones in Yashiori Island and Tatarasuna. It’s a must for ascending Aloy and Sayu. Currently, they are the only two characters needing bone marrow crystals. Unique taste.

Dark Iron Sword: The One and Only (Probably Lost)

The Dark Iron Sword is a 3-star weapon. Only one exists in the game. Talk to Chen the Sharp in Liyue to get it. He’s near the southern waypoint, selling Grilled Tiger Fish. If you used it as fodder, tough luck; it’s gone forever.

Agnidus Agate: Pyro Power Stones

Agnidus Agate serves as the Pyro ascension stone. Defeat bosses to farm it. Pyro Regisvine and Pyro Hypostasis drop these fiery stones. Prepare for boss battles if you want to ascend your Pyro characters.

White Tassel: Liyue Chest Polearm

The White Tassel is a 3-star polearm found in Exquisite or higher quality chests in Liyue, including The Chasm and Chenyu Vale. Hunting chests can yield more than just Mora and sigils. You might score a White Tassel.

5. Genesis Crystals and Primogems: The Real Currency of Despair (and Wishes)

Let’s discuss premium currencies: Genesis Crystals and Primogems. These make you consider selling your soul for another wish.

Genesis Crystals: Premium Power-Up

Genesis Crystals are premium currency bought with real money. They act as “whale currency.” Exchange them for Primogems at a 1:1 rate. Buy them in the in-game shop or on third-party platforms (be cautious on those). For “cheapest” Genesis Crystals, consider the Blessing of the Welkin Moon, giving you 300 upfront, plus 90 daily for 30 days.

Primogems: The Wish Fuel

Use Primogems to make wishes in the gacha system. Get them from various in-game activities like Statue of the Seven offerings, Adventure Handbook completion, Sacred Sakura Tree rewards, Spiral Abyss clears, and more. Basically, playing earns you Primogems.

Achievements: The Patience Pays Off Approach

Complete achievements for Primogems and sometimes Genesis Crystals. It’s the game’s way of saying thanks for doing stuff! Check achievements regularly; rewards add up over time.

Conversion Rates and Costs: How Much Does Gacha Really Cost?

  • 1 Genesis Crystal = 1 Primogem: Simple math.
  • 160 Primogems = 1 Wish: Magic number for gacha pulls.
  • 75 Wishes = 12,000 Primogems (approximately): Soft pity territory; start saving those Primos!
  • Welkin Moon Math: 30 days of Welkin Moon gives you 2700 Primogems (300 + 30 * 90). Almost 20 pulls for a small cost.
  • 90 Wishes = 14,400 Primogems (approximately): Hard pity; maximum Primo expenditure.
  • $50 = Roughly 32-33 Wishes: You get around 3200-3360 Genesis Crystals. Converts to 20-21 wishes.

6. Iron Ore in Minecraft: A Blocky Detour (Because Why Not?)

Slight tangent time: let’s talk Iron Ore in Minecraft. Mining is still mining, even in blocks. Maybe there’s wisdom for Genshin mining here.

Best Minecraft Mining Levels: Go Deep, Young Miner

Minecraft Iron Ore is best found between levels -24 and -56. That’s where big blobs of Iron Ore appear. Dig deep to prosper.

Iron Ore Spawns: Random Blobs of Goodness

Iron ore in Minecraft spawns in blobs of 0-13 (Java) or 0-16 (Bedrock), attempting to generate 90 times per chunk. Spawns from levels 80 to 384, but is most common around level 232.

Iron Armor Math: Blocky Protection

Craft a full set of iron armor in Minecraft with 24 iron ingots. That’s quite a bit of mining! Armor up to face Creepers with less fear.

7. Extra Nuggets of Genshin Wisdom: Because Details Matter

Here are more tidbits because we like details.

Cor Lapis Respawn Bug (Maybe): The 3-Day Mystery

Some players believe there’s a Cor Lapis respawn bug. They claim it takes 3 full days, not just 2-3 days. Is it a bug or variance? The mystery continues…

Crystal Shards (Terraria Again? Nope, Different Crystals): Hallow Goodness

No Crystal Shards in Genshin Impact; they are a Terraria crafting material found in the Underground Hallow. They regrow constantly and can be farmed.

Qiuwei: Port Ormos Vendor Extraordinaire

Qiuwei, our Silk Flower vendor, sits on the Port Ormos wharf in Sumeru. Now you know where to find her for Silk Flower needs.

Butterfly Farming: Momiji-Dyed Court Butterfly Bonanza

The Butterfly Farming Spot is at Momiji-Dyed Court (the Severed Fate and Shimenawa Domain). Go catch butterflies for your potions.

Pyro Crystalfly: Natlan’s Fiery Flyers

Pyro Crystalfly flies in Natlan. Fiery butterflies sound cool but are probably hard to catch.

Crystalfly Rain Aversion: They Melt in the Rain (Not Literally, But Kinda)

Crystal flies avoid rain completely. They won’t spawn when it’s raining. Sunny days are best for hunting them.

You now have it all! Your guide to ores, crystals, and shiny items in Genshin Impact. Explore, mine, and spend responsibly on those Primogems!
