Is Prototype Starglitter Actually Good for Rosaria? Let’s Settle This.

You have Rosaria in Genshin Impact. Good choice! This Cryo nun patrols at night and fits well into your team. But the key question arises: which weapon works for her? If you’re eyeing a Prototype Starglitter, let’s see if it suits her needs.

Prototype Starglitter 101: Stats and What it Does

Let’s learn about this weapon. The Prototype Starglitter is a 4-star polearm you can craft. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Base Attack: At max level, it sits at 510. That’s solid for a 4-star weapon.
  • Energy Recharge: It boasts 45.9% Energy Recharge. If you find Rosaria’s Burst low, this helps.
  • Weapon Effect: After using an Elemental Skill, total damage rises by 8% for 12 seconds, stacking 2 times at Rank 1. More refinements boost this buff further.

On paper, it’s decent. Energy Recharge is useful, and extra Attack damage is good. But is it good for Rosaria? Let’s explore further.

Rosaria’s Role: DPS or Cryo Queen?

Before deciding if Prototype Starglitter best fits her, we must know Rosaria’s role. Will she be your main damage dealer or support?

  • DPS Rosaria? Maybe Not. Rosaria can deal damage, but her skills focus more on Cryo application than being a main DPS. If you want her to carry, it may lead to frustration. Her normal attacks are okay but not her main strength.
  • Support Rosaria? Now We’re Talking. This role highlights Rosaria’s strengths. Her skills and Burst effectively apply Cryo, fueling Melt or Superconduct reactions and increasing team Crit Rate. She’s a great Cryo applicator and solid support.

Prototype Starglitter vs. The Polearm Posse: Weapon Showdown!

Let’s compare Prototype Starglitter with other polearms for Rosaria’s attention. Here are the matchups!

Prototype Starglitter vs. Crescent Pike: The Physical DPS Face-Off (Spoiler: Pike Wins)

Crescent Pike might be suggested for a physical DPS role. Its passive excels with physical damage. The truth is: Crescent Pike frequently outshines Prototype Starglitter for physical damage builds. It’s almost the only choice you should consider.

Prototype Starglitter vs. Favonius Lance: Battery Battle!

Here, Prototype Starglitter stands out a bit more. If you build Rosaria as an Energy battery, both options provide Energy Recharge. Favonius Lance generally outperforms it for battery. Its passive generates energy for the team. However, if Favonius Lance isn’t available, Prototype Starglitter can serve as a decent temporary option.

Prototype Starglitter vs. “The Catch”: Burst Damage Bonanza!

“The Catch” is another 4-star polearm, but you need to fish for it. Yes, it requires fishing. Still, it’s worth it. “The Catch” usually outperforms Prototype Starglitter if focusing on Burst damage. It raises Burst damage and Crit Rate, making her skills powerful. Though claiming Prototype Starglitter is easier, “The Catch” significantly boosts Burst damage. Plus, fishing adds charm!

Prototype Starglitter vs. Dragonspine Spear: Cryo vs. Physical Confusion

Dragonspine Spear is a mixed choice for Rosaria. It inflicts Cryo damage on enemies hit by Cryo, which sounds great. The downside? The physical damage bonus from its passive isn’t very helpful overall. Prototype Starglitter proves to be more versatile for Rosaria than Dragonspine Spear. The latter is too niche and often underwhelms.

Other Noteworthy Weapons: The Big Leagues

Let’s be honest. If you have 5-star weapons, Prototype Starglitter likely isn’t on your list. But here are some top-notch choices for Rosaria:

  • Wavebreaker’s Fin: Many consider this the best weapon for Burst DPS builds. It scales damage based on total energy capacity.
  • Staff of Homa: The ultimate polearm. If you have it, equip it on Rosaria and watch opponents melt (literally, in Melt setups).
  • Favonius Lance (Again!): A top free-to-play choice for support or battery Rosaria.

Rosaria’s Artifacts and Stats: Gear Up!

Apart from weapons, let’s touch on Rosaria’s ideal artifacts. This info shows how Prototype Starglitter fits into her playstyle.

  • Artifact Set: Blizzard Strayer. This vital set boosts Cryo DPS and support characters like Rosaria. The 4-piece bonus significantly raises Crit Rate against frozen foes, which she can easily affect.
  • Key Stats: Aim for Crit Rate, Crit DMG, ATK%, and Energy Recharge. Energy Recharge is important if using Prototype Starglitter to maintain Burst uptime.
  • Constellations: C6 is King (or Queen?). Rosaria’s Constellation 6 transforms her playstyle, cutting Physical Resistance of enemies struck by her Burst. This boosts her support abilities and personal damage.

Starglitter: To Spend or To Hoard? The Eternal Question.

A final note on Starglitter itself. Masterless Starglitter, gained from duplicate pulls, is valuable. Should you spend it on Prototype Starglitter crafting?

  • Saving Starglitter is Smart. This currency aids in buying crucial materials like Ascension items. It proves especially vital when attempting to level a 5-star character.
  • Shop Weapons: Tempting but… Blackcliff weapons cost 24 Starglitter each in the shop. While they allure, ensure thoughtful spending. Sometimes saving for Ascension materials is wiser.

The Verdict: Is Prototype Starglitter Good for Rosaria?

The million-Mora question remains: Is Prototype Starglitter good for Rosaria? The answer is straightforward: it’s okay. Usable, especially in early to mid-game or if you need Energy Recharge.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Pros: Easily obtainable (forgeable), offers Energy Recharge, decent base ATK for a 4-star weapon.
  • Cons: The weapon effect isn’t great for Rosaria’s typical playstyle and is often outclassed by other options.

In sum, Prototype Starglitter serves as an adequate placeholder weapon for Rosaria, mainly if you require Energy Recharge and lack Favonius Lance or “The Catch”. It’s not the best option but can suffice if you’re in need. Just don’t expect it to carry her through Spiral Abyss floor 12 alone.

In conclusion, while Prototype Starglitter won’t transform Rosaria into the Cryo Archon, it serves well enough. Keep an eye out for stronger options like Favonius Lance, “The Catch,” or those elusive 5-star polearms. Until then, Starglitter will… glimmer quietly. Just perhaps not as brightly as other weapons.
