Jean’s Constellation in Genshin Impact: To C or Not To C? That is the Question.

You’ve got Jean, the Dandelion Knight. She acts as Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius. She’s a healer and a damage dealer. Jean is also a crowd controller. She can hurl enemies into the sky like a drunken Anemo god. Now you’re staring at her Constellation screen. Are those shiny stars worth chasing? Constellations in Genshin Impact are like sprinkles on a donut. They improve things but the donut is already tasty. So, for Jean, are the sprinkles amazing or just… sprinkles?

First, let’s clarify what Constellations in Genshin Impact are. They are additional buffs and abilities you unlock when you get duplicates of a character via the gacha system. Each character can unlock six Constellations from C1 to C6. Some change the game, while others are less impactful. Luckily, Jean shines at C0. Let’s see if her Constellations are worth your Primogems.

We will examine Jean’s Constellations closely. We will focus on those that matter. Some Constellations feel less exciting, like receiving socks for Christmas. We will get to the point about whether Jean’s Constellations are worth your wishes.

Jean’s Constellations: The Sprinkles Breakdown

C1: Spiraling Tempest – The “Yeet Master” Upgrade

Constellation 1 is “Spiraling Tempest.” It enhances Jean’s Elemental Skill, Gale Blade. This increases the pulling speed of Gale Blade after holding it over 1 second, and boosts Damage dealt by 40%. This upgrade makes your standard yeet a mega-yeet. Does it matter much overall? Not really. The speed increase helps gather enemies faster, but the damage boost is just a damage boost. It’s good if you’re using Gale Blade for damage. But is it something to aim for? Probably not. It’s more of a pleasant surprise than a necessity. Jean excels at crowd control and damage already.

C2: People’s Aegis – The Team ATK Speed Fiesta

C2, “People’s Aegis,” is where things get interesting. Upon picking up an Elemental Orb or Particle, Jean gives her party members 15% ATK SPD and Movement SPD for 15s. This means characters attack and move faster. A team-wide 15% Attack Speed buff is significant. It boosts damage output, especially for auto-attack units like Yoimiya and Ayato. Faster attacks mean more damage. The Movement Speed bonus enhances dodging and rotations. If you want your team to hit faster, C2 Jean is solid. This is a valuable constellation.

C3: When the West Wind Arises – Burst Level Up

Constellation 3 is “When the West Wind Arises.” It gives a +3 to Elemental Burst Level. It increases Dandelion Breeze by 3, maxing out at level 15. Leveling up your Burst boosts damage and healing. It’s not bad, but it isn’t exciting either. Increases are just numerical upgrades. For Jean, this means more healing and Anemo damage when it bursts. It’s solid. But compared to unique effects from C2 or C4, it ranks lower.

C4: Gale Comes from the Front – Anemo RES Shred City

C4, “Gale Comes from the Front,” takes things up a notch. Within Dandelion Breeze’s field, all enemies have their Anemo RES decreased by 40%. This Anemo RES shred is valuable. If you run an Anemo damage dealer like Xiao, this helps! Reducing Anemo Resistance increases damage significantly. C4 Jean makes her an amazing support for Anemo teams and a solid one for others. It’s arguably her most impactful constellation.

C5: Outbursting Gust – Skill Level Up

C5, “Outbursting Gust,” mirrors C3 but applies to Gale Blade. It increases Gale Blade Level by 3, max 15. Again, it’s a simple level increase that boosts damage. However, Gale Blade isn’t Jean’s main source of damage. It’s less impactful than C2 or C4. It’s easy to overlook in actual gameplay. Technically useful, but not exciting.

C6: Maiden’s Glory – The “I Refuse to Die” Constellation

C6 is “Maiden’s Glory.” It reduces incoming DMG by 35% within the Dandelion Breeze field and grants a 35% Anemo DMG Bonus for 10s after leaving it. C6 Jean emphasizes survivability and boosts Anemo damage. The damage reduction is huge. It allows your team to tank damage that would typically obliterate them. The Anemo DMG Bonus is great for DPS characters. C6 makes her a strong healer and support, optimizing survivability.

Best Jean Constellations: The Verdict

Which of Jean’s Constellations are the best? If we choose, C2 and C4 stand out as top-tier. C2 offers team-wide Attack Speed, which benefits most compositions. C4 provides significant Anemo RES shred, elevating Anemo damage dealers’ performance. Both constellations add value to Jean’s kit.

Should you pull for Jean’s Constellations? That’s the million Primogem question. Jean is great at C0. She heals, crowd controls, and deals some damage. Her Constellations add extra value, but they aren’t necessary for her effectiveness. If you get extra copies while wishing for others, it’s a lucky day.

Specifically aiming for consoledions? Only pursue this if you’re a die-hard Jean fan or want to optimize your Anemo team. Your Primogems are likely better used elsewhere, like getting new characters or weapons. But if you chase C2 and C4, you won’t be disappointed. Just remember, Jean shines even without them, and constellations are sprinkles on an already delicious Dandelion Knight donut.
