Right Eye of the Falmer: Is it Treasure or Trash in Skyrim? Let’s Find Out!

You’ve found the “Right Eye of the Falmer” during your Skyrim journey. Congrats! You got something that seems important. However, buckle up, Dragonborn. The truth about this unusual eyeball is a bit underwhelming. Let’s see what it really is and what you can do with it.

What Exactly Is the Right Eye of the Falmer?

First, let’s clarify what this item is. The Right Eye of the Falmer is a valuable miscellaneous item in Skyrim. It’s like fancy junk. This eyeball is not a quest item. Sorry, treasure hunters. You stumbled onto nothing grand or conspiratorial.

Okay, So What Can I Actually Do With It?

It’s not your world-saving device. But there are definitely possibilities with this large, likely glass, eyeball. Surprisingly, you have a few choices. Ranging from dull to slightly exciting, here they are.

Option 1: Cash In! (Selling)

Your most straightforward option? Sell it, of course! In Skyrim, everything has a price. Here are a few selling routes you can take:

What Is Doomguy’s Age and Mythical Status in the Doom Universe

  1. Standard Merchants: Any merchant with deep pockets will gladly buy it from you for gold. They won’t ask questions. Don’t expect inquiries about its previous owner’s vision problems.
  2. Delvin Mallory, Your Thief Guild Fence Buddy: For those who prefer a less traditional approach, Delvin Mallory at the Thieves Guild buys almost anything without queries and usually at a better price than retailers. Plus, there’s a bonus…
  3. Thieves Guild Display: If you sell the Right Eye to Delvin, it won’t just disappear. No, it gets special treatment! It will be displayed in the Thieves Guild headquarters, the Ragged Flagon – Cistern. Think of it as adding to your trophy collection for skills.

Option 2: Declutter Your Inventory (Dropping)

Feeling bogged down with loot? Low on inventory space? If you prefer minimalism, you can simply drop it. Leave it on the ground. Perhaps a nearby bandit will find value in it. Or maybe a mudcrab will make a home of it. The possibilities are limited but exist.

Option 3: Home Decor, Skyrim Style! (Decoration)

If you have an eye for home design, this Right Eye could be a unique addition to your abode. Want to wow your guests? Nothing screams “Welcome!” like a giant eyeball on your shelf. It can definitely spark interesting chats.

  1. Unique Home Accent: Place it on a shelf or table for a bit of Falmer flair. Just don’t stare too long; it may seem to stare back.
  2. Museum Worthy? Maybe: You might want to rethink using it as decoration. It’s arguably better suited for the Thieves Guild display. Let Delvin showcase it; this might be its best fate so far.

Option 4: The Sneaky Double-Dip (Stealing It Back)

Regretted selling the Right Eye to Delvin? Don’t worry, crafty rogue! You can actually steal it back from its display in the Thieves Guild. There’s no penalty for this! Apparently, they have a relaxed policy on displayed loot. If you want your eye back, feel free to reclaim it. Just be subtle; even thieves maintain standards… sort of.

Right Eye vs. Left Eye: A Falmer Eyeball Showdown!

The burning question remains: Is the Right Eye of the Falmer related to the Left Eye? Are we building a set? Kind of. Both are valuable miscellaneous items. Think of them as twins in Skyrim’s loot world.

  • Left Eye’s Claim to Fame: The Left Eye is part of a quest! It’s from “The Litany of Larceny,” given by Delvin Mallory. This gives it more… significance. Read more about radiant quests on the Unofficial Elder Scrolls Pages.
  • Right Eye’s Lone Wolf Status: Unfortunately, the Right Eye doesn’t get a quest spotlight. It’s not included in “The Litany of Larceny” and won’t appear on Mercer Frey’s shelf after a sale to Delvin. It simply sits in the display case. Still cool, just not quest-related.
  • Double Eyeball Trouble (or Treasure?): Interestingly, both Eyes can be looted from Mercer Frey during the “Blindsighted” quest. Talk about eyeball overload! The Left Eye’s purpose is still only selling to Delvin for gold. Even with both, it just doubles your profit, not unlocks some eyeball-powered weapon.

In summary, the Right Eye of the Falmer, while perhaps not groundbreaking, is still an interesting find in Skyrim. It’s valuable, displayable, and quirky. Whether you decide to sell it, decorate your home with it, or keep stealing it back from the Thieves Guild is up to you, Dragonborn. Just be cautious and avoid poking anyone’s eye out.
