Chasing Golden Feathers? Let’s Wing It to the Mycenaean Tomb of Ajax in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

You’re hunting for the Golden Feather of Ajax in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. You’re not alone. This chase is filled with challenges. We’re here to help navigate this treasure hunt. Let’s dive into this mystery and uncover the answers!

First, put away your binoculars. This quest isn’t about bird-watching. The Golden Feather of Ajax is one of five artifacts Xenia, the pirate queen, wants. She is stylish but a bit untrustworthy. Think of her as your quest-giver with a twist.

Where to Find This Glimmering Quill? The Mycenaean Tomb of Ajax

Your prize lies within the Mycenaean Tomb of Ajax. This tomb is not random. It’s located on the Isle of Salamis. Salamis is a cozy island in the Attika region. Perfect for bandits. According to IGN, the tomb is in the island’s center, impossible to miss unless you’re lost.

Once you find the tomb (it’s more like a bandit den), prepare for a fight. Time to battle the bandits. Clear a path to their leader. Here is where the real treasure awaits. Loot the leader’s body, and voilà! You have the Golden Feather of Ajax. It’s a trophy showcasing your bandit-slaying skills.

Xenia and Her Treasure Hunt Extravaganza

Now, why do this? Ah, Xenia. She loves ancient artifacts and enjoys sending you on quests. These treasure hunts involve solving treasure maps. Xenia resembles a pirate Indiana Jones, staying on her ship while you do the legwork. For more, Shacknews has helpful info.

If her maps confuse you, check out Rock Paper Shotgun for clarity on Xenia’s treasures.

More Shiny Baubles for Xenia: Beyond the Golden Feather

The Golden Feather is just the beginning. Xenia has more treasures to collect. Here’s a brief list:

  • Triton’s Shell: Not your typical seashell. You’ll dive into bandit caves in Makedonia. Makedonia is in the northern peninsula, where your aquatic foes await.
  • Pan’s Flute: Leave the bandits for myth. Head to the Cave of Pan in Attika, southeast of Marathon. Jog there, it adds to the fun.
  • Apollo’s Lyre: Use the treasure maps given by Xenia. Check your inventory for “Map to Apollo’s Lyre” and “Map to Pan.” Think for yourself this time—almost.

Odyssey Detours: Love, Lineage, and Lethal Decisions

While you search for feathers and flutes, let’s discuss other elements of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.

  • Romance? In My Assassin’s Creed?: Yes! Alexios or Kassandra can marry in this game. Kyra, Aspasia, and Neema are options, along with Randvi in Valhalla (not quite the same game). Beware, romance complicates endings.
  • Who’s Your Daddy?: Plot twist! Alexios’s real dad isn’t Nikolaos; it’s Pythagoras, the philosopher. Clever bloodlines with a family twist.
  • Can’t Save Brasidas, Sorry: Spoiler! Brasidas meets a tragic end. This is fixed in the timeline, like rush hour traffic. Some outcomes are unavoidable.
  • Aspasia: Spare or Kill? Templars Either Way!: Decisions with Aspasia may seem significant. Kill or spare her? Templars will still exist. It feels trivial, like rearranging deck chairs.
  • Deimos: Messiah Complex with Isu Blood: Deimos believes he is a demigod because of Isu blood. Complicated family drama ensues.

Feathers Across the Assassin’s Creed Universe (and Beyond!)

Golden Feathers are notable in Odyssey. Collecting feathers spread throughout the games.

  • Assassin’s Creed 2 Feathers: The OG Feather Frenzy: Remember collecting 100 feathers in AC2? Tedious. You earned a cape and an achievement. Worth it? Depends on your perspective.
  • Brotherhood Flags and Feathers: Double the Trouble: Brotherhood introduced flags and feathers. Collect 101 flags for a Borgia Cape. The last feather lurks in Centro District, near the Colosseum.
  • Assassin’s Creed 3 Feathers: Costume Prize: AC3 featured feathers but rewarded only costumes. Still, you must catch them regardless.
  • Valhalla: Isle of Skye Feathers… Maybe?: Valhalla includes feathers for Viking-themed fun. Isle of Skye has feather hunting as part of its collectible tradition.

Golden Feathers in the Wild: Gaming Edition

Feathers aren’t limited to Assassin’s Creed; they’re popular collectibles.

  • Genshin Impact’s Jubilant Feather: Paper Trail: Genshin features Jubilant Feathers swirling on paper in various areas. Each fantasy game needs feathery items.
  • Angry Birds’ Gold Feathers: Guest Bird Perks: Angry Birds links gold feathers to Guest Birds and their score thresholds. Simple game logic.
  • Terraria’s Golden Critters: Bunny and Jay Bling: In Terraria, you might find Gold Bunnies and Gold Jays. Rare, golden versions with 1-in-400 or 1-in-150 chances.
  • A Short Hike’s Golden Feathers: Completionist Wings: A Short Hike holds 20 Golden Feathers for completionism. Hike short, but hunts can be long.

Romance? Not in Every Game, Folks

Romance isn’t in every game despite Odyssey’s influence.

  • Outer Worlds: Romance-Free Zone: Outer Worlds lacks romance. It focuses on space adventures and corporate stories.
  • Starfield: Space Love is Real: Starfield permits romance with companions. Four choices exist, acknowledging galaxies’ loneliness.
  • Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous: Race-Specific Romances: Pathfinder has racial conditions for romance. Limited choices present unique dating situations.

GTA Online and… Revolvers? Okay.

Gaming brings randomness!

  • GTA Online’s Double-Action Revolver: Treasure Hunt Time!: Want a Double-Action Revolver? Join the treasure hunt! An email from vanderlinde@eyefind.com starts your journey.

Mythology Morsels: Gods, Moons, and Hospitality

While in Greece, let’s touch on mythology.

  • Apollo: God of Many Talents (and No Wife): Apollo excels in multiple areas, but lacks a wife. He faced Zeus’s wrath twice, once for killing Cyclopes.
  • Triton: Neptune’s Retrograde Moon: Triton isn’t merely mythological; it’s Neptune’s moon, known for its retrograde orbit.
  • It goes backward. Space feels strange.
  • Xenia: Hospitality is Sacred: Xenia is ancient Greek hospitality. It holds great significance. Zeus protects it. A bond exists between host and guest. Respect and reciprocity matter. Don’t be a bad guest in ancient Greece. Otherwise, Zeus may punish you.
  • Demeter: Mother of Persephone (and More): Demeter is the goddess of agriculture. She has children. Persephone is the most known one, with Zeus, her brother. Greek mythology, indeed. Others include Arion, Despoina, Plutus, and Philomelus with different… figures. Family reunions must be awkward.
  • Ares: Mars by Another Name: Ares is the god of war. His Roman counterpart is Mars. Mind blown? Not really, just mildly informed.

Aquarium Antics: Xenia, Polyps, and Corals… Randomly

Now for something different… aquarium tips?

  • Pulsing Xenia: Rock Islands and pH Levels: Pulsing Xenia coral? Create a rock island in the sand bed. Keep pH above 8.3. Coral care remains relevant.
  • Green Star Polyps: Water Movement Matters: Green Star Polyps prefer moderate to high water movement. Flow is key in their underwater world.
  • Hammer Coral: Stable Water and Occasional Snacks: Hammer corals need stable water conditions. Light and flow should be moderate to high. Feed them phytoplankton, zooplankton, or mysis shrimp at times. Target feeding applies in coral care.

Your guide includes the Golden Feather of Ajax, lots of Assassin’s Creed trivia, random game facts, mythology insights, and even aquarium tips. Life offers many surprises. Now go find that feather. Impress Xenia, and maybe… learn about ancient Greece in the process. Happy hunting!
