Unlocking Bozja: Required Quests and Prerequisites
The Bozjan Southern Front is a level 71 field operation introduced in patch 5.35 with Shadowbringers. This is an instanced area that up to 72 players can explore simultaneously, and is the first major battlefield of two in the Save the Queen: Blades of Gunnhildr storyline. It is where players assist the Bozjan Resistance in reclaiming their homeland from the IVth Imperial Legion.
To unlock the Bozjan Southern Front, players must fulfill a series of prerequisites:
- Complete the main scenario quest Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty.
- Finish the corresponding post-main story quests of Shadowbringers.
- Complete the quests The Bozja Incident and Fire in the Forge.
The unlock quest is called Where Eagles Nest, which requires players to be a Disciple of War or Magic level 80. It begins at Gangos (X:6.4 Y:5.7) with the NPC Marsak. After obtaining your Resistance weapon, speak to the NPC Sjeros near the harbor and select ‘Enter the Bozjan Southern Front‘.
Additionally, players must start the questline named Hail to the Queen in Kugane. This is essential to unlocking the Resistance weapons, which are Shadowbringers’ relics, and the Bozjan areas. Ensure you’ve completed the questline in Stormblood’s Return to Ivalice, including its three Alliance Raids: The Royal City of Rabanastre, The Ridorana Lighthouse, and The Orbonne Monastery.
To unlock Gangos, players need to finish the Ivalice raids. Then, you will have a quest in Kugane called Hail to the Queen which marks the start of the Shadowbringers relic questline.
Entering the Bozjan Southern Front can be done by speaking with Sjeros at Gangos (X:5.5 Y:5.4). Players are allowed to form parties of up to eight members inside the instance, and they can join or leave parties freely. The instance has a time limit of 180 minutes specific to each player and commences upon entering the duty.
As you gain Resistance Ranks, you’ll unlock more of the Southern Front, which is divided into three sections, and initially, you’ll only have access to limited areas.
Navigating to the Bozjan Southern Front: Maps and Locations
Entry to the Bozjan Southern Front:
- Players can enter the Bozjan Southern Front by speaking with Sjeros at Gangos (X:5.5 Y:5.4).
- If entering as a party, the leader must speak with the NPC.
- You must have first completed Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty, and The Bozja Incident.

- The Bozjan Southern Front consists of three zones:
- Southern Zone
- Central Zone
- Northern Zone
- Castrum Lacus Litore is located to the north of the Southern Front.
- A highly detailed Bozjan Southern Front map includes all recent topographical information, such as the position of craters left by explosions.
- Click on Skirmish (FATE) circles to see their name, position, and description text.
- You can toggle Monsters to see their locations.
- Additionally, there is an interactive website that contains filterable maps for Eureka and Bozjan Southern Front, which is open for community contribution using an easy-to-use editor directly on site.
Party Registration:
- When registering as a party, all members must have the same type of priority deployment for it to be recognized.
- If the number of players requesting priority deployment exceeds the maximum number of combatants, they will be selected by lottery.
Bozjan Clusters:
When defeating enemies on the Bozjan Southern Front, there is a chance players will come across Bozjan clusters. These crystals can be traded to the Resistance Quartermaster at Utya’s Aegis (X:14.2 Y:29.6) for various goods and services.

Understanding the Bozjan Southern Front: Gameplay and Strategies
To unlock the Bozjan Southern Front in Final Fantasy XIV, follow these steps:
- Purchase Shadowbringers.
- Complete the Main Scenario Quest ‘Vows of Virtue, Deeds of Cruelty’.
- Finish the ‘Return to Ivalice’ questline.
- Have at least one Level 80 Disciple of War or Magic.
Once you meet the requirements, proceed to Rhalgr’s Reach:
- Pick up the quest called ‘The Bozja Incident’ from an Ironworks Engineer at (X:11.8, Y:11.8).
- Complete the quest ‘Fire in the Forge’, which will unlock a new area called Gangos.
- To get to Gangos, travel to the Doman Enclave, head to the docks, and talk to the Airship pilot.
- Once in Gangos, find Marsak at (X:6.4, Y:5.7) and complete the quest ‘Where Eagles Nest’.
- Afterward, speak with Sjeros at the docks and select the Bozjan Southern Front option to enter the battlefield.
Additionally, if you are already at patch 5.4:
- First, finish the Ivalice raids.
- You will then have a quest in Kugane called ‘Hail to the Queen’. This begins the Shadowbringers relic quests.
- Follow the quest chain until you unlock the Bozjan Southern Front at ‘Where the Eagles Nest’.
Finally, players can enter the Bozjan Southern Front by speaking with Sjeros at Gangos (X:5.5, Y:5.4). If entering as a party, the party leader must speak with the NPC. Unlike other instanced areas, the Bozjan Southern Front allows the use of party functions such as inviting party members, disbanding the party, and leaving the party.
