You want to be a treasure hunter in Teyvat? Great choice. You’ve found the right spot, adventurer. No more aimless wandering. We will explore Genshin Impact’s treasure opportunities. From hidden stashes to quests, this is your guide to legendary loot. Get rich or die trying!
Treasure Troves: Locations to Find
Want to know where treasures wait? Here are some prime spots to kick off your hunt.
- Cuijue Slope’s Peak: Head to the peak at Cuijue Slope, west of Guili Plains. Search for a shovel sticking out of the ground – that’s where treasure lies. Easy win.
Nameless Treasures: Famous Stashes
These “Nameless Treasures” are surprisingly well-known. To get them, play detective in various locations.
- The Trifecta of Treasure: Check out Dunyu Ruins, Qingxu Pool, and Lingju Pass. Solve the Geo puzzles there to open chests. Nameless Treasure is yours.
- Trading Up: Once you obtain all three Nameless Treasures, head to Linlang. She’s near the souvenir shop in Liyue Harbor, left of the stairs. Trade them for sweet Mora. Mora fuels everything.
- Dunyu Ruins Puzzle: Solve the Dunyu Ruins puzzle. You’ll earn a Nameless Treasure and a Geoculus. Two rewards for one effort.
Questing for Treasure: Hunt for Maps
Treasure hunting involves more than just finding buried chests. Quests are crucial. Teyvat has countless treasure-related quests. Let’s explore some.
Yaksha’s Treasure: Ancient Secrets
Heard of Yaksha’s treasure? To start, find the Ruin Tablet. Interact with it to start the quest. Paimon joins, of course. Your mission is to unlock the gate behind that Ruin Tablet. Legend states Yaksha’s treasure is near.
“Treasure Lost, Treasure Found”: A Tablet Hunt
This World Quest resembles a scavenger hunt with stone tablets. First, go to Guili Plains for five stone tablets. After that, locate two more tablets and a hidden jade plate in ruins. Think Indiana Jones, with a twist.
“Share Not Your Treasures”: Ruin Guards and Bonfires
Interested in forbidden treasures? Begin by finding the Worn Letter in Guili Plains ruins. You’ll face a Ruin Guard at the entrance. Once inside, locate and interact with the letter. Light a bonfire using Pyro, then defeat some Treasure Hoarders. Read the Scribbled Notes to finish.
“A Cliff-Side Hero’s Past”: Eggs, Jade, and Old Chou
This quest involves a Guhua disciple, Tang Wuchou. Defeat him first, then give him a Bird Egg for a jade pendant. Next, find Old Chou. Dig for treasure to get Old Chou’s “gift.” Talk to him again and report back to Tang Wuchou. Quest complete.
Kaeya’s Story Quest: Pirate Booty
For Kaeya’s pirate treasure, teleport to Mondstadt. Glide southeast to the windmill shown in his quest. Climb to the top platform. Open the treasure chest to claim your pirate loot with no need to say “Arrr.”
Hanging Rock Treasure (A Homage to Games)
This treasure may remind you of another game. At The Hanging Rock, find treasure under large rocks. Genshin might inspire real-world treasure hunts later.
Arthur’s Treasure Hunt (A Fantasy Crossover?)
Another game reference here. “Arthur’s Treasure Hunt” sounds exciting too. Genshin may learn from these crossover treasure hunts.
Questing Challenges: Puzzles and Exploration
Quests involve more than fighting; puzzles exist in Teyvat too. World Quests add depth to exploration.
World Quests: Leveling Up Your Game
World Quests appear as you level up and progress in the storyline. Some require you to gain respect from factions. More gameplay means more quests and potential treasure.
Puzzle Power: Use Your Mind
Puzzles can be simple or complex in Genshin. Here’s a glimpse:
- Nine Pillars of Peace: Cuijue Slope hosts this puzzle. Find the Nine Pillars and the inscribed stone to begin. You need nine Stones of Remembrance from Liyue Statues. Climb each pillar and use a Stone on the glowing panel.
- Challenge Chests: Some puzzles require combat challenges. Defeat 10 enemies in under 90 seconds like in that sword cemetery area. Complete the challenge, and treasures will appear.
- Pneumousia Puzzles and Mysterious Cores: These cores come from chests after solving seven Pneumousia puzzles. Seven puzzles yield one item, so be prepared.
- Stone Pillar Demolition: Use Pyro to dismantle Stone Pillars easily. One Pyro hit usually suffices. Combine Dendro + Pyro for effective damage.
Specific Quests to Monitor
Looking for quest names? Check these:
- “Fishing for Jade” & “Return of the Jade Chamber?”: Near Liyue Harbor, talk to Kun, a Millelith guard. He activates “Fishing for Jade,” which leads to “Return of the Jade Chamber?”
- “Endless Research”: Speak to Alrani and defeat hilichurls. Use Elemental Sight to find slimes and defeat them too. Research never ends but may offer rewards.
- “Stolen, by the Rightful Owner”: A ring was taken. Your task is to return it to Taliesin. Navigate northeast of Tiangong Gorge to find Glaze Peak.
- “The Farmer’s Treasure”: In Inazuma, look for this World Quest. Complete “Ritou Escape Plan” and “Searching for Saimon Jirou” first.
- “Static Views”: After Aranara questing, explore Sumeru for “Static Views,” which has hidden chests across the area.
- “Courage Is in the Heart”: To unlock, find Aranara’s House in Lokapala Jungle in Sumeru.
Exploration: Leave No Stone Unturned
Exploration is vital in Genshin. Want to be a completionist? Here’s how to maximize your exploration.
100% Exploration: The Holy Grail
Aiming for complete exploration? Unlock waypoints, finish World Quests, find all chests, and solve every puzzle. Use an interactive map or compass for guidance.
Geoculus Missing? Maps to the Rescue!
Missing Geoculus can be frustrating.
Use an interactive map. The Genshin Impact official site and GameWith work well. Check your progress against the map. Spot any missing Geoculus. Locate them and conquer them.
Treasure Hoarders: More Than Just Annoying Bandits
Treasure Hoarders appear everywhere. They may have treasure maps too. Here are hotspots:
- North of Springvale in Mondstadt. This occurs during the Raptor questline.
- East of Luhua Pool in Liyue.
- Between Mt. Tianheng and Lingju Pass in Liyue.
- South of Mt. Tianheng in Liyue.
After fighting Treasure Hoarders in the World Quest “Thief-Catcher,” you receive the Treasure Hoarder’s Map. This item shows their camps. Steal their maps to find the treasure they hide.
Item Emporium: Currencies and Crafting Components
What is treasure hunting without items and currencies? Let’s dive into the loot.
Red Dye: DIY Decor
Need red dye? Collect Sunsettia, Carrot, or Valberry. Use these at the dye station in your Serenitea Pot. Create red dye for your interior decor.
Jade Sliver: Canthan Currency?
Jade Slivers serve as currency in Cantha. You get them by recycling junk items using the Jade Bot Recycler. Cantha? Wrong game! Unless… Genshin will cross over with Guild Wars 2? Probably not, but it’s a fun thought.
Mysterious Core: Puzzle Prize
The Mysterious Core! Remember, these come from chests after finishing seven Pneumousia puzzles. Rewards from puzzles, literally at the core.
Pyro Treasure Compass: Natlan Navigation
Need a Pyro Treasure Compass? Forge one after reaching Tribe Reputation Level 4 with three tribes in Natlan. Tribe level 4 in Natlan sounds like a grind, but treasure compasses are worth it.
Nameless Treasures (Revisited): Mora Multiplier
Nameless Treasures again. Look to Dunyu Ruins, Qingxu Pool, and Lingju Pass. Trade these to Linlang for Mora. Mora is vital for adventurers.
Slightly Squashed Package: Iron Chunk Exchange
Slightly Squashed Package? Give it to an NPC to get three Iron Chunks back. It may seem underwhelming, but hey, free Iron Chunks!
Character and Region Rundown: Know Your Territory
Teyvat is massive and diverse. Knowing regions and characters is crucial for any adventurer.
Natlan: Land of Pyro and Indigenous Inspiration
Natlan lies west of Sumeru’s desert. It rests beyond the Great Red Sand and Desert of Hadramaveth. It draws inspiration from Pre-Columbian Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa, and indigenous cultures of Oceania. The diagrams for the Pyro Treasure Compass come from Natlan Tribe Reputation.
Dragonspine: Chilly Challenges and Domain Unlocks
Unlock Dragonspine access during the World Quest “In the Mountains.” Melt three strange ice shards to unlock the Peak of Vindagnyr domain. Raise the strange needle and boom – the area and domain are unlocked. Dragonspine offers cold quests and rich domains.
Enkanomiya: Deep Dive into the Depths
To enter Enkanomiya, you need Adventure Rank 30+. Complete Archon Quest Chapter II: Act III “Omnipresence Over Mortals.” Finish “The Moon-Bathed Deep” World Quest and “The Still Water’s Flow.” The area is locked by quests and lies deep underwater.
The Chasm: Maw Descent or Elevator Ascent?
Enter The Chasm’s Underground Mines by using an elevator above The Chasm’s Maw. You can also drop down the giant hole in the middle. Choose your entry method: elevator or freefall. The Chasm is dark, deep, and offers various entry points.
Five Yakshas: Legends of Liyue
The Five Yakshas consist of Bosacius (the eldest leader), Indarias (the Pyro power), Bonanus (the Hydro Yaksha), Menogias (the Geo Yaksha), and Xiao (the famous one). Five Yakshas, five elements, five legends.
Xiao: Alatus and Archon Quest Prerequisites
Xiao’s questline opens after completing Archon Quest Chapter I: Act I “Of the Land Amidst Monoliths” and reaching Adventure Rank 40. Xiao is popular and powerful, but his quest is gated.
Pyro Archon: Mavuika, the Fiery Figurehead
Mavuika is the current Pyro Archon. More Mavuika lore is coming as Natlan nears. Pyro Archon: fiery and likely important in future storylines.
Xiangling: Spiral Abyss Reward
Obtain Xiangling by clearing Spiral Abyss Floor 3, Chamber 3. Xiangling is free, Pyro, and achievable in the Abyss.
Lisa: Ragged Old Scroll Enthusiast
Lisa loves the Ragged Old Scroll. If you love Lisa, gift her a ragged and old scroll.
Anna: Sadly Sickly
Anna has a chronic illness. Poor Anna, a lore tidbit: she is sickly.
Marcel (aka Vacher): Fontaine Villain
Marcel, whose real name is Vacher, is a major antagonist in Fontaine. He appears in the second act of the Fontaine Archon Quests and Furina’s Story Quest. Keep Marcel/Vacher in mind as you play.
Adventurers, you are now armed with a trove of knowledge. Go forth and explore Teyvat like you own it. Always check for shovels sticking out of the ground. Happy hunting!
