Diving Deep into Felcloth Farming: Your Ultimate Guide

Alright, adventurer, want Felcloth? You’re in the right place. It’s not the most glamorous item in Azeroth. But if you’re a tailor or want to make gold, it is valuable. This guide will help you navigate demon zones and emerge with a full pocket of this essential cloth. We’ll pinpoint locations and strategies for optimal farming.

Why Bother with Felcloth? The Mooncloth Connection

First, why Felcloth? It is crucial for crafting Mooncloth, a more appealing and potent fabric. Felcloth is like the rough version of Mooncloth. You wouldn’t wear it to a fancy dinner. Mooncloth is vital for crafting robes and bags that players always want. To make Primal Mooncloth, you need Felcloth. So, get ready. Felcloth is where the Mooncloth journey begins.

Prime Felcloth Farming Hotspots: Where to Hunt Demons

Let’s talk locations. Felcloth drops from level 50-60 demons. Don’t hunt animals; you will be let down. Focus on demons and satyrs in these top-tier farming zones:

  • Misty Valley, Swamp of Sorrows: A classic zone. Misty Valley is full of demons ready for the taking. The drop rates are consistently decent, making it reliable for farming.
  • Warpwood Quarter, Dire Maul (East): Dire Maul isn’t just for dungeons. The East wing is great for Felcloth. Mobs here are tougher, but rewards justify efforts.
  • Mazthoril, Winterspring: Winterspring’s Mazthoril area is another solid choice. The cold may be harsh, but your chances for Felcloth here are high.
  • Tainted Forest, Blasted Lands: The Tainted Forest is a grim area. Still, demons here drop Felcloth often. It might be remote, but worth considering if other spots are busy.
  • Satyr Camps in Azshara: For an easier farming experience, visit satyr camps in Azshara. They may hit hard, but the combat is often less frustrating.

Remember, efficiency is about more than location; speed matters too. Choose zones you can handle where you can kill quickly. Every dead demon means one less chance to drop Felcloth.

Demonology 101: Mobs That Yield Felcloth

Let’s clarify targets. Hunt level 50-60 demons and satyrs. In Dire Maul’s Warpwood Quarter, face level 55-60 foes. Watch for Doomguards, Felguards, and various satyr types. Anything that looks like it came from the Burning Legion is a target. If it bleeds green and looks angry, it likely drops Felcloth.

Moonwell Magic: Turning Tainted to Tranquil

You’ve gathered your Felcloth. Now what? Time to transform it into Mooncloth. This requires a Moonwell not found everywhere.

Moonwell Locations: Your Purity Pits

Moonwells are mystical pools of lunar energy. Thankfully, Felwood is filled with them. Though Felwood is corrupted, these pools work for purification. Here are reliable Moonwell locations:

  • Jaedenar: Right in the heart of demon land.
  • Ruins of Constellas: Ruins with a purpose!
  • Wisperwind Grove (Coordinates 44.02, 28.41): A quieter spot for those who prefer some peace while purifying.

Primal Mooncloth Pro-Tip: Double the Mooncloth, Double the Fun

For those aiming for Primal Mooncloth, there’s a trick. Complete the quest “Becoming a Mooncloth Tailor.” You’ll gain a passive ability called “Mooncloth Tailoring.” This grants you an additional Primal Mooncloth whenever you craft one. Free Mooncloth is good! So get that quest done if you’re focused on Mooncloth production.

Moonwell Quirks: Patience is a Virtue (Sometimes)

A word of caution: Moonwells can be temperamental. The game indicates, “only occasionally will the waters permit themselves to be used in such a way.” You cannot just purify non-stop. There’s a cooldown period. Think of it as the Moonwell needing a break after all that magic. Purify your cloth, then kill some more demons while waiting for the Moonwell cooldown. Patience is needed here.

Beyond Felcloth: Expanding Your Textile Empire

While Felcloth is our star today, there’s much more to cloth farming. Let’s briefly touch on related areas:

Satyrs in Felwood: Jadefire Run

Need more satyrs? Check Jadefire Run in Felwood by Felpaw Village. If Azshara doesn’t meet your satyr-slaying needs, Jadefire Run is a great alternative.

Other Cloths for Other Needs: A Quick Guide

Some days you need more than Felcloth. Here’s a quick look at other useful cloth farming spots:

  • Runecloth: Blackrock Stronghold, Burning Steppes (45.5, 35.2): For mass Runecloth, this is the place to be.
  • Weaver’s Cloth: Isle of Dorn, The Opalcreg Mine: Find Weaver’s Cloth and Darkmoon Cards here.
  • Linen Cloth: Westfall, Loch Modan, Barrens, Silverpine Forest, Darkshore: Classic zones for Linen Cloth farming.
  • Silk Cloth: Scarlet Monastery (Library and Armory wings): Great farms for Silk Cloth; these wings are particularly fruitful.
  • Wool Cloth: Duskwood, Wetlands, Barrens: Wool Cloth from humanoid-heavy zones like these.

Felcloth Across Expansions: Still Relevant?

You may wonder if this Felcloth advice still holds in Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) or Cataclysm. The basic principles of Felcloth farming remain solid. Target level 50-60 demons and satyrs as you did before. While specific mob spawns may change slightly in expansions, the overall strategy persists for hunting demons in these areas for Felcloth. So there you have it, your guide to Felcloth farming. Now go forth and conquer those demons! May your bags be heavy with Felcloth and pockets filled with gold (or at least enough gold for a mount). Happy hunting!
