Is Aquila Favonia Actually Wasted on Bennett? Let’s Talk Swords.

You pulled Aquila Favonia. Congrats on your shiny sword. Now, is it good for Bennett, the popular Pyro character? Let’s dig into Genshin swords and see what Bennett prefers.

Aquila Favonia: Bennett’s Unofficial Signature Sword

Aquila Favonia isn’t made for Bennett directly. No connections in the lore. Still, it’s often called his best weapon. Why? The stats tell us. This 5-star sword has very high base ATK. For Bennett, base ATK is essential. It boosts team damage significantly.

Aquila Favonia offers an ATK% bonus. That’s extra power on top of his already strong ATK buff. For Bennett, who amplifies ATK as a leader, this is gold. Though not made for him, Aquila Favonia ranks high among his weapons. If you have both, you are in luck, unless you’re aiming for a physical build.

Bennett’s Weapon Priorities: Base ATK is the Name of the Game

When equipping Bennett, focus on his clear needs. Forget crit stats or elemental bonuses. For him, Base ATK matters most. His Elemental Burst buffs depend on base attack. What boosts that? His weapon’s base ATK and his own base ATK. A higher base ATK means a bigger buff for your team.

Another key stat for Bennett is Energy Recharge (ER). His Elemental Burst enables support skills. You want it ready often, ideally off cooldown. Aim for around 200% ER as a good baseline. This helps Bennett to keep his elemental burst up and provides buffs consistently. Treat ER as his fuel for performance.

Stats like ATK% on weapons don’t help Bennett’s buffs. His buff depends only on base ATK. Aquila Favonia’s ATK% is nice, but its strength is the base ATK. Essentially, we’re using it as a powerful stat stick that boosts his damage effectively.

Alternative Weapon Options: When You Don’t Have an Eagle Sword Lying Around

Aquila Favonia is great for Bennett. Yet, finding 5-star weapons can be hard. What if you lack this sword? Don’t worry, there are alternatives.

Other high base ATK 5-star swords, like Skyward Blade, work well. Skyward Blade gives Energy Recharge as a secondary stat. This helps meet Bennett’s ER demands. Its raw ATK may not match Aquila Favonia, but it’s a solid option with utility.

For 4-star weapons, you still have excellent choices. Sapwood Blade, easy to craft, stands out. It has high base ATK and Energy Recharge as a secondary stat. Perfect for supporting Bennett. Consider Sapwood Blade as the reliable option for his weapon needs.

The Alley Flash is another good 4-star choice. It has lower base ATK than Sapwood Blade but provides more Energy Recharge. If struggling with ER, The Alley Flash is your friend. It’s easy to get from event banners and boosts burst uptime effectively.

Choosing between Sapwood Blade and The Alley Flash comes down to preference and artifacts. If you can reach your ER goals with Sapwood Blade, go for it. If energy continues to be low, The Alley Flash’s better ER can save the day.

Aquila Favonia: Beyond Bennett? Not Really.

What about using Aquila Favonia on other characters? The high base ATK is valuable but not game-changing for most characters. It often acts as a “stat stick,” used for its bonuses while ignoring its passive effect. This applies even to Aquila Favonia outside of Bennett.

Jean, Qiqi, Keqing, and Kuki Shinobu can use Aquila Favonia. However, they usually have better weapon options that fit their skills more. For instance, Jean prefers weapons amplifying her Anemo damage or offering utility, while Keqing favors crit swords.

Even Ayaka can theoretically use Aquila Favonia but it’s not advised. The base ATK may be nice, yet her builds focus on Cryo and crit stats instead. Making her a physical DPS with Aquila Favonia isn’t the best move; there are better swords for her needs.

Aquila Favonia excels in Bennett’s hands. For others, it serves as a useful stat stick but plenty of better options exist tailored to their roles.

Bennett Builds and Stats: Support vs. Sub-DPS

Bennett’s main role is support. He provides an essential ATK buff and healing. For a support Bennett build, focus on burst uptime and healing quality. Aim for 200-250% Energy Recharge if he is your sole Pyro character. For healing, he needs around 25,000 to 30,000 HP without reducing buffing strength.

Sub-DPS builds are rarer but viable with constellations. For those builds, balance Energy Recharge with damage stats while keeping at least 200% ER for burst availability. Aim for about 50% Crit Rate and 100% Crit Damage to start. Pyro damage bonus matters too for sub-DPS builds, sacrificing some healing for personal damage.

Bennett’s Constellations: Unlocking Potential (and Potential Pitfalls?)

Bennett’s constellations elevate his abilities significantly. Constellation 1 (C1) removes HP restrictions on his ATK buff. Previously, his buff applied only within his burst field and to characters over 70% HP. C1 changes this; now his buff is available to all within the area, greatly improving quality of life.

Constellation 6 (C6) generates debate. It fills his burst field with Pyro, changing physical damage dealt there to Pyro damage. This benefits Pyro DPS characters like Xiangling but harms physical characters like Eula or Razor by overriding their focus. If using physical DPS characters, think carefully before activating C6.

In summary, is Aquila Favonia good for Bennett? Yes. Is it wasted? No way. It provides high base ATK, amplifying team buffs effectively. Even if not visually designed for him, statistically it’s a top choice. In Genshin, stats often outweigh style.

So if you have Aquila Favonia and Bennett together, consider it a perfect match in Teyvat.
